I have two secret cities on my list. Sure enough I got a reassignment inquiry for one but I am number 16! I said yes! My dream location had about a dozen folks on the list in front of me, so I decided to put my name on it even though I wasn't quite ready to make a move. Much to my surprise, I got a reassignment offer a month later. Coming so soon it was a tough choice, but I'm glad I accepted, because then years went by without any reassignments. |

Yes that is where I am but I figure if I get an offer with that many people passing it up then it is meant to be. And unlikely to come around again. The theme last year was that the transfer list was going to be done away. In fact leadership had submitted sworn statement saying that transfers pursuant to CBA were a burden on the agency and that the entire CBA Article on transfers needed to discarded |

Does anyone know how to get a transfer to a NHC? It's not a transfer. They will post when their are openings, and you apply. |

Thank you. I don't think I have ever seen an email come out about openings at any of the NHCs. Have there been any?

Thank you. I don't think I have ever seen an email come out about openings at any of the NHCs. Have there been any? Last time was around 2018. they are all considered management ALJs and cannot join the union as full members but as associate members. They supervise their writers. |

It will be interesting going forward, depending on how much of the average line ALJs case load consists of phone or video hearings, the NHCs may become kind of superfluous. |

Interviews were late spring 2020, and about a half dozen judges moved into positions at several of the NHCs in Oct 2020. Openings are sent out by email, just like HOCALJ openings. |
