ALJ To The Rescue
New ALJ Tim Wing of the Wilkes-Barre Hearing Office was conducting hearings in the DOI Surface Mining Conference Room. His claimant was a no show and he was waiting for his next claimant when one of the secretaries in that office began to choke. Initial attempts by the office staff failed to dislodge the substance. Judge Wing stepped in and performed the Heimlich maneuver and managed to dislodge the piece of pretzel from the woman’s throat. It is nice to know that people are willing to help others in need and make a difference. Way to go Judge Wing!
