Anyone know if we can deduct any of the expenses for the trips to DC from our taxes? It seems like I remember something from tax law about this.

For me and other private attorneys its a business expense. You could form a business and while I'm not a tax lawyer, I would think its deductible in any event.

I seem to recall that the IRS had special rules about job hunting expenses. I am certainly no expert, but my recollection was that such expenses could be written off only if the process resulted in obtaining a job.
I also doubt that the new suit would be deductible in any case.

I think we all need to consult an accountant or tax lawyer, as my curiosity and limited research indicates its a little complex. I do think hooligan is right about the suit.
