There's increasing interest in this board as the end (or beginning for some of us) draws near. There was one day in February 2008 when the board had the most viewers. This year, maybe our peak interest day will be in March when scores are announced or April when interviews are announced or maybe in May when the offers will probably start going out. That is, if things go forward with what we understand is the hiring plan at this point in time...

I confess that I'm one of the ones constantly hitting this Board, even though I know there's nothing new to expect until around March 3. I am very thankful that this Board has given me such helpful info. Particularly thankful to those who already are ALJs, and take the time to give information to those of us in the process.
Here's my little tidbit to those, like me, who are wondering if you'll be training in Baltimore in the late summer or early fall. If you want something to pass the time and prepare for Baltimore, start watching reruns of The Wire. You can get them all on DVD. It's the best thing I've ever seen on TV (HBO), and exposes the seedier sides of Baltimore (drug dealers, cops, politicians, etc.). Warning #1: There's lots of violence and foul language so wait until the kiddies are in bed. Warning #2: Unless you were raised in inner city Baltimore and are current on all the slang, you might want to have English subtitles enabled. Warning #3: Watch the episodes in order, or it will be hard to figure out what's going on.

Northwest, I'm in the same boat as you concededly are: I, too, read this board for info whenever I can. I will say I have been in Baltimore on official travel on several occasions and fell in love with it. I wish you the best of luck.

During my hike today, I found myself not just thinking about where I might get relocated, what to do about prepping my house for sale, whether I should be eating more food already in my larder and freezer instead of buying new....all towards the possibility of getting a favorable message in June.... I found myself mulling over messages I read or wrote in this forum! In many ways this forum has been wonderful, and it's great to share information with others in the same boat. In other ways, it's been way too much of an obsession.

But I, and alot of my fellow posters, gotta believe a change is gonna come.

The highest the board viewership got recently I think was in the high 40's (when the scores came out and then when the notification of cert came out)--it will be interesting if, on the day the offers start cropping up in people's email boxes, viewership hits 100 or more. A few have said this "class" of applicants is lacking in solidarity or interest or score power, or this, that, and the other. I think we are a pretty good bunch. We have a few little dust-ups, but we come together at key points to console, congratulate, encourage, etc, etc. It's almost over now and, though I reserve the right to keep my own lucky rabbit's foot--Good Luck to All.
