I won't share my score but I am not among the people who feel shocked at my score (either too high or too low). But there are several people who feel frustration with the score and the pace of appeals.
So it seems that you can pretty much divide the huge amount activity on this board into two categories: (1) people who are ticked off about the system thus far; (2) and people who just want to know what to expect next.
If we could have a "look back" sub board for the former and the "look ahead" board for the latter, I think we might be able to group the threads into more manageable piles.

I don't think it's necessary to group the board into different categories of wanna be's and had been wanna be's. Within a short period of time, many of both groups (mostly the latter) will fall off the board, because what more is there, really, to say. However, I've thought for a while that the board should split at some point into two main topics: (1) ALJ wanna be type questions & discussion; and (2) new class of ALJ questions (where to stay in Baltimore; how do I handle X type of claimant/office issue, etc.). The latter category of course wouldn't need to be limited to the new class of ALJs, but could be a forum for any ALJs to share insights or ask questions related to the job. I don't know what the titles of those categories should be. Maybe call them (1) ALJ hiring; and (2) General.

One nice thing about the ALJ class. You don't have to worry about where you will stay--the agency sets all that up. You just need to go there. Unfortunately with the new travel system we got--those of you who are SSA employees might never get the approval!!  |

The other board for everything unrelated to ALJ hiring. It's an interesting idea and I'll put it to a poll for the rest of the week to see what posters think. |
