Did anyone else receive 2 separate email notices from two separate individuals?
As far as I can tell, the only difference is the list of locations. The first one has two cities in P.R. as possible locations. The other one has ALL the other places in the US that I had also indicated I was available for. Of course I am fully bilingual.
Anyone else? Should I respond to them separately? This could be confusing.
Any ideas?
Thanks for input.

I had listed all locations including PR in my original application. I thought I'd like to go to PR to work on my Spanish. However, I'm not bilingual, and would not have been qualified to conduct hearings in Spanish. I assume that this disqualified me from the PR locations. I just got one email with all the locations available except PR. I did not get the second email re PR.
It makes sense to me that you got 2 separate emails. My guess is that they are looking at PR separately because of the special bilingual requirement. I've heard that the interview for PR applicants is conducted in Spanish. Possibly, they'll schedule you for two interviews; one for PR and the other for everywhere else.
Good luck! ¡suerte!

Latinlawyer, good to hear from another bilingual candidate! I also included PR but haven't received the "Notification to ALJ Candidate." I also heard that for PR the interviews are in Spanish. I wish other bilingual English/Spanish candidates post in the board, or maybe reply here.

You probably got two different notices because there are two different certs and you have at least one city on both. I think the PR ALJs are hired from a different cert than the main cert.

Latinlawyer, what two locations are listed on the PR cert? If I remember correctly, there was a total of three possible locations on the list for PR.

Hi rov,
The two PR locations are Ponce and Mayaguez. However, I think those are the only two that I originally indicated I would be available for. So...the fact that the third is missing may not really mean anything!

Latinlawyer, thanks for the response. I got my notice yesterday regarding the PR cert listing all three cities. So it looks like they are hiring for all three. By the way, any reason you did not list San Juan?

Does anyone know how many total positions they are hiring for in Puerto Rico?
How many positions in each of the three cities?
