Starting to fill out the paperwork from "the email". List at least 3 written items that you authored and that were published. Does everyone have this? What if you don't? How detrimental will this be? My recollection from the past was that many do not have them. I personally use bar materials and CLE booklets (but then, I've never been picked, so beware). I'd love to hear from recently appointed ALJs who left those blank or had similar writings...

I had not written any articles or had anything published but I was hired. That's such a great thing about this board - immediate amelioration of anxiety. Thanks yankeesfan.

I'd like one order of immediate amelioration of anxiety - without fries.

I'd like one order of immediate amelioration of anxiety - without fries. You want that with, or without shock therapy and group counseling? ht

This IS group counseling, isn't it?

I was likewise hired as an ALJ without the published articles.

I got an email. My score was about 55, so I did not expect it. This is as far as I have ever gotten in the process, and I was on the register in the 1980's (or whenever) with a decent score back then This one was so low, I laughed. I put anywhere for my GAL, but I doubt if I will go to Minnesotta or Buffalo. I am a southern girl and can't handle the cold.
I have never published anything but a neighborhood newsletter.

Never published a thing and I'm coming up on my third year soon. Also had a few friends that got picked up and none of them published anything either. So don't worry about it.

Per this morning's e-mail, I made the cert. My token locale for the GAL: Albany, NY. Does anyone out there have any intel to share about that office, or how many slots to be filled there? Thanks.

I was likewise hired as an ALJ without the published articles. Nor I.

In my GAL, there were some of the cities listed by Buffalogal, in addition to the following:
BOSTON, NEW YORK, LONG BEACH, LOS ANGELES DOWNTOWN, LOS ANGENES WEST, ORANGE, PASADENA, SAN BERNARDINO, SAN FRANCISCO, SAN JOSE, SAN RAFAEL, OAKLAND.

Hi,
Are they still sending the certs out today (Wednesday) ?

One would assume that they are still sending emails--it takes a while to do as many as 500. Someone posted some inside info upthread that they are still working on the emails.

Jonmom, I don't think New York City is on the certificate. I have NYC on my GAL, and it is not on the list I received. Do you mean Albany instead?

No, I meant New York city. Both Albany and NYC are in my GAL. I only listed here the ones that are in my list but not in Buffalogal's.
