There seems to be very little action today, judging from the polliing palace and this thread...There is very little evidence of calls to cities on Part One of the Poll, and only 19 votes between all the cities on Part Two and Part Three. Of course, we don't know about those offers which may have been made to people who are not members of this board, or who choose not to vote on the polls. It leaves us with very little information and a lot of anxiety....I am still waiting, hoping for that phone call. Right about now I am wishing I had included every city in the country on my GAL...

Deferring to those that have been around awhile (said only in the most humble manner), is it possible that (like a prior entry stated) that many selections had been made but that the leadership was wrestling with some hard ones and that they have called the "low hanging fruit", ie. those they had decided upon, and that more calls will be forthcoming as soon as the leadership decides on some tougher selections?
I am holding out hope for more calls!!

If the city is not listed in the polling place, is it a safe bet that no one (nice or otherwise) will be calling with an offer to fill a slot in such city? If that's the case, what was the purpose of putting it on the list and dragging me down to Falls Church in the first place?

Today's lull notwithstanding, is it likely that calls will go out over a weekend or are the calls only placed M-F?

My call about my interview was placed on a Saturday morning. But, I do not know if that means anything regarding the offer calls.

Been following this board for a while now and have never heard of offers going out over a weekend. But if the math is right, and historically about 1/3 of the offerees will post to this board, then there are more offers to be made if they intend to offer upwards of 120 new slots. So hang in there all and keep in mind, everyone is more than qualified to do this job or you would not be on the list. Plus, be sure you want to do the work, for it is not an easy task if done right.

If remember correctly, I received the package with respect to being hired both by e-mail and snail mail.
I agree with whoever recommended that you contact the HOCALJ (Hearing Office Chief ALJ) at your assigned office ASAP. You will also be assigned an experienced ALJ as a mentor. The mentor is especially important if you are coming from outside of ODAR. There is also a mentor's guide that provides you with the things you are supposed to do. The two weeks that you are in your office before you go to training will mostly involve watching videos about SSA law and procedures and attending and observing hearings. You might also want to contact the Hearing Office Director (HOD), who is in charge of all of the support staff.

This silence is deafening. Are all the offers out? :-( 82 offers this round. Allegedly another small hiring before the end of FY12.

Have all 82 offers been made? Anyone know? Of course I'm hoping for a call, but if they are done, I'd rather be able to let it go now and enjoy my weekend. Thanks to all the folks for posting!

I appreciate everyone taking the time to post. Aside from a couple of placements in Portland, I am not seeing any Region 9 placements. Is anyone on the West Coast even getting called yet, or are Region 9 posts, so far, from people transferring from outside the area?

Thanks for the information Workdrone. It would be nice to know if all 82 offers had already been made. I am in Region 9 and see little activity there, too. Is that mostly transfers?

Any idea what happened to the alleged other 41 spots? Transfers? A change of heart? Any idea why most of them appear to be in the same regions (our part one)?

does anybody know how many hopefuls are on the current cert? It seems that thousands of people (or the same people thousands of times) are viewing these boards
