I think that our references are only good for one year, whether the same or new ones.

( )No problems! I have no worries about any of this process. I like my current job well enough. Hope that I get an interview but if not, then all is well really. Good luck to all of you in this process.

Do we know when anyone has had, or has had scheduled, an interview? If you have, can you let us know when?

For what it's worth, all of my references are being contacted - but they were contacted last year when I was flown to Falls Church for the interview (yet got no offer). And, I've not received any e-mail on the new OPM process that the e-mail application was accepted / complete & I am progressing to the next level. I am in dubious limbo on all levels... I decided to stuff it all & booked my long-awaited trip to Europe for August / September (it's only been 30 years since my last trip, after all...).

Well if no one has even been contacted for an interview, is it realistic for ODAR to schedule and complete the interviews, and then select the new ALJs, by the end of May? I'm thinking maybe sequestration has mucked up the works -- talking about hiring new ALJs is one thing, but laying out hard cash for candidate and interviewer travel (not to mention new hires) is entirely another.

Same as lesliefredericka ... except no plans for Europe. But, there's always golf until the magic happens

Trust me, they know how much money they have and I truly believe that there will be a hiring out of this Cert. You guys and gals are all wonderful and so innocent. Go have a good weekend and quit killing yourselves. Plenty of time for that after you are hired..

Maybe we could get a class action on intentional infliction of emotional distress. Having been down this road sooooo many times, I still am surprised when OPM and or SSA comes up with new ways to make the process confusing and frustrating. It is almost impressive.

For what it's worth, I got a reference call on an applicant on this Cert about an hour ago.

My references were called. I interviewed already, last year.
While we wait, I'm burying myself in my work and doing some deep breathing.

I've been on certs since 2010. This time around, I substituted a few new references. My new references were called about a week ago, but other references who had previously been called for other certs were not called.

Hmmm. I have been on certs since 2010 also. This time one reference that I know of was called. But, all my supervisors, immediate, second, and third line have been called. What does that mean? Probably nothing. It is just so hard to wait.

They don't call all the references every time. One of my references who was on the list all along was only called once, on one of the later certs I was on. There is no rhyme or reason to any of this process. Just be glad you are in the hunt. Keep yourself focused on your job and your life, and deep breathing won't hurt, either. Good luck, all!

While this may be premature, when calls are made, is it necessary to inquire before accepting whether/what relocation assistance may be provided, or is it a standard package? Thanks!

If my references have not been called do I assume I am not really be considered for a position on this cert? They have been called in the past for prior certs but was over a year ago.

Almost all of my references have been called-some of them were new and others had been called before. I do know that I heard or saw somewhere that the references calling for this cert should be completed by Friday. There do not seem to be a huge number of people who have not had an SSA interview-so I expect those people will be getting calls soon. No one should expect to get a second SSA interview (First impressions last forever) :-). I have also heard June or July class which would support selections coming at the end of May or early June (but that is just speculation).

How Many references are you required to list?

How Many references are you required to list? They asked for three in each of three categories,... judges, adversaries, and others who could speak to your qualifications. For those who don't have adversaries, you can note that and list non-adversary references. They are not all called, necessarily, for every cert, as noted in posts earlier in this thread.
