Right now there is no shortage of ALJ offices. we are still short over 60 Judges, so there are open offices. They will probably keep a remote site in Augusta, but I think they are looking at moving the employees elsewhere.

Augusta office is done. The actual office structure was a biohazard. The ability to close the office and save that money is a sequestration gift, so to speak. Prior to the Augusta office opening, one of the Atlanta area offices served and had a remote site in Augusta. This will probably be reopened. Thanks for the info.

I think it is worth pointing out, that more than half of all ODAR offices are now processing Hearings in under 365 days, (some ODARS under 200 days!)which was the goal. The longest waits are in the 500 day range in St. Louis Metro with some of that "backlog" now handled by the Chicago NHC. For those that remember the 999 day list, the backlog is now a unicorn. Please note the number of new claims being filed is dropping. The very negative view in press and in DC is very much in play.
