I was the original reporter who posited the SSN theory. I didn't specify, but the people I took the exam with were both currently in NY or NJ and also grew up there. I met another woman at my SI who traveled from CO, but was born and raised in NJ. Certainly not dispositive, but still a possibility.

“Perhaps I'm old and tired, but I always think that the chances of finding out what really is going on are so absurdly remote that the only thing to do is to say hang the sense of it and just keep yourself occupied.” ― Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy That being said, I fully believe, based on independent, unscientific, very limited and elementary research, that the SSN theory is one of the few plausible truths floating around here!

There were folks testing last week, but I didn't see any mention of the number of test takers during the WD/LBMT. anyone out there, if you counted, could you provide us math geeks with a number? For the rest of you this week - GOOD LUCK and we can't wait to hear your stories.

I tested today (Monday) and the room was full, other 31 or 32 people there. More women than men. All age ranges and mostly white.

just for the record, I'm the person who was "traveling from new jersey" in the poll. I tested this week with a bunch of michiganders b/c my SSN was issued in Michigan, where I'm from originally. the SSN theory is undoubtedly correct. nice to be around a bunch of michiganders, btw!

thanks baglady! I've been hanging around reading the board, just not writing much...glad to have finished! I was dreading it, but it ended up not being so bad, IMHO. Courage to everybody on here!

Based on the numbers coming in, any one have any idea if original estimates on how many may be testing are still valid. I think we were thinking 1,000 - 1,200???

Has anyone tried to go thru this thread and maybe the dc trip report thread and count up the numbers of testees (hehehe) for a running total?
I was about to, but figured someone of like affliction may have already done so.

The problem being funky, we won't have numbers for a lot of dates where there were no Board members or someone didn't post. There were usually less than 32 (except the day I tested) and normally somewhere between 25 and. 30 with an average of 28 or so based upon posts. Now do your magic funky and give us a number. . I still think my educated guess of 1100 is pretty close to the number.

Ok, here is some complete mathmatical voodoo.
From a quick purview of the reports on the board, a total of 247 candidates tested on 9 reported days.
That gives an average of 27.4 per day.
If my testing day count is correct (leaving out labor day, all fridays and assuming testing occured on MTWT of all weeks since 8/5) that is 27 testing days through today.
If the average holds, that's approximately 741 that will have completed testing by end of the day.
If testing goes thru the week of 10/20, that's an additional 20 testing days. With the 27.4 average, that's another 548 candidates.
Based on all of the above huge "disagree"umptions, that's a total of 1289.

Funky my calculator says that through today there will be 739.8 people testing, not 741 as you state. The 8/10 of a person is important. LOL! So the real total would be 1287 8/10 people testing. I just don't know how that 8/10 of a person would perform as an ALJ!
