You guys make it so no one ever wants to join the board. You jump on the new guy who was clearly just asking a question. Moopig, you in particular frequently greet newcomers with an implied or explicit admonishment about whether they've read past posts. It's also pretty off putting that you and others continually chastise others for doing exactly the same thing that you and all of us are doing or have done in the past: waiting for news.

It's also pretty off putting that you and others continually chastise others for doing exactly the same thing that you and all of us are doing or have done in the past: waiting for news. From our fearless leader, in the "Welcome!" sticky thread: "Finally, a word to new members. Please read the stickied threads on Search Function Feature and ALJ Hiring FAQs before asking questions. Most of us here prefer folks to exercise some due diligence (after all, you're at least an attorney if you want to be an ALJ...) before asking. So please review the above resources before asking, otherwise one of us might just tell you to go back and do some more research first, since many of the common questions newbies have were already answered multiple times in the last two years. Thanks. Sincerely, ALJD" I don't think anyone is chastising anyone for "waiting for news". We are all doing that. But some of the questions that have been seen here during the "wait" are easily answered (or might not need to be asked for some other reason) with a search.

I liked "SuaSponte." I thought it appropos, and not at all troll-like.

It's also pretty off putting that you and others continually chastise others for doing exactly the same thing that you and all of us are doing or have done in the past: waiting for news. I apologize for this rant in advance, but I needed to respond to the calling of me out by humblepie. Yes, I usually say something about whether the poster looked at the previous posts or threads, but then I go on to answer the questions asked by the newbie. One of the things most individuals should do prior to posting is to use the search function of the Board to see if the topic has been covered in a past thread. Legal writing and research is one of the core courses in law school. Attorneys certainly have been trained to do research for their cases prior to writing briefs or making oral arguments to judges. You are here to acquire a position as an ALJ and if you have problems doing simple legal matters attorneys do daily, how are you going to be able to be a qualified ALJ? Are you going to go into the SSA interview and ask questions of the interviewers such as: What is a disability?; What is the difference between Title II and Title XVI claim?; What are the Listings of Impairment? What are the Medical-Vocational Guidelines and how do they work?, etc? Not if you want the position. So, I am sorry if you perceive my answers as admonishments, when I am trying to get you and others to improve your skills. If you came to the Board and said I did a search and couldn't find this topic and could you help me out with an answer, most people would be happy to answer you. As observer53 stated in her post above, even the Board rules ask you to search to see if you can find a previous post dealing with your question. Otherwise, it looks like you are just too bothered or lazy to look and yet, you are applying for an ALJ position. I am sorry for coming down so hard, but your post singling me out really irks me. No, to answer your somewhat rhetorical statement, I did not come to the Board and immediately ask questions or create threads without first looking at previous posts or threads.

Thank you for helping me "and others to improve you [sic] skills." Clearly, Stupidum (and I) have read previous posts and threads. Good luck, all. Moo pig, no need to rant further--I won't post again. Rather, I'll be busy improving my skills. Geez.

Agree with the theories or not, I say this discussion is much more interesting than the radio silence! Now we just need to hear from Radoy! Are you sure we haven't already heard from him here (as a new contributor again) ?? How could he be sure? I'm not even sure you haven't already heard from me.

Everyone here has offered good enough answers or reasons for me to assume my question can be answered with a resounding "not happening". Just know that smarter and more locked in people than you or me have asked the same question. So even if you consider it ridiculous, not everyone is mocking it. As far as what the government has to do, governments and agencies fail to do as required or leave money on the table all the time for no good reason other than pandering or party rhetoric. Look no further than the government shut down, which contributed to some of the delay in the NORs coming out, to prove that point. And with all due respect tiger law, I did not come on here flaming a national treasure (Funky), boasting about how I was a shoe-in for an ALJ position, and discounting the role of government employees, which lead to a whole thread being locked down. I merely asked a question I thought was worth asking, based on the unusual delay and all the information posted on this board. It seems that certain people on this board automatically view those with low post counts who ask questions as trolls. And yes, I did change my handle, but only because "SuaSponte" seemed pretentious and troll like. Thanks for the responses, and good luck to everyone.
you are welcome, I've been busy in trial, but by commenting on your post during lunch, you got to whip up on the Tiger! Welcome aboard and you must have thick skin in order to survive on this board. Good luck to us all.

I liked "SuaSponte." I thought it appropos, and not at all troll-like. I agree. I think you should change it back. I think someone once pointed out that an anonymous forum brings out some less tactful comments. That does not change the fact that there are many silent readers out here who enjoy reading your contribution to the marketplace of ideas.

Dammit sandi, I was told those pics were destroyed.
Ok, on three let's all take a deep breath. Ready? 1...2...3, breathe.
I have no idea which part of the whiz, bang, whirl process we are in, but i'm sure the whizbangwhirl machine at puzzle palaze is humming along.
Soon enough a supermajority of us will be lamenting the fact that we aren't even in contention for this 90. A supermajority of those in contention will be even more devastated when they don't get hired.
In the end, very very few of us will be happy. Why rush it? Right now everyone on the register is a winner. Probably have only a couple weeks of that feeling left. Enjoy it.

humblepie, don't stop posting. We've lost a lot of participants on this board over the last year, and I encourage everyone to ask questions and posit theories. I say the more, the merrier. Come out, come out, wherever you are!

Tensions seem to be rising again, as they did shortly before the release of the NOR's. Perhaps we should take this as a sign that our frustrating wait will soon be over. Personally, I have developed an unusual neurological condition that only asserts itself when I am in front of my computer all day. Without thought or intention, my right hand shoots out, grasps the mouse and starts wildly clicking my browser links to this site and my email account. This has been occurring every 15 to 20 minutes. I have tried self-treating this condition with situational bourbon and other home-made remedies, without success. I am starting to get worried as the frequency of these involuntary movements has been increasing lately. Any suggestions for a cure would be appreciated. If there is no cure for this, perhaps it meets a listing? Anyone care to have a non-adversarial hearing on this issue?
