About turning down offers, when she called to offer me Toledo, I said "Did you say Atlanta?" She said, "No, I said Toledo." I said "Can you tell me what is behind door number 2?" She said, "Yes, let me look." She said, "It's Atlanta." I said "Really?" She said, "Yes, you can stay there as a Senior Attorney." I said, "Ah, I think I prefer door number 1." She said, "I thought you might." And that was that..

What was tough? Your interview? Are you done? I'm sure it went well.

Well let me add some anxiety to those who fly in and out on the same day for the SSA interview.
I was originally scheduled to land at Reagan at 11. I am currently at Dulles refueling so we can fly to Reagan. Weather prevented us from landing and we were running out of fuel. We will arrive around over 2 hours late at a minimum.
Glad I took the first interview of a day so I had to come in the day before.

Indeed DD, I thought the OMHA one was tough too. I did not find the interview easier than the SI.

If you could survive the SI you can survive the agency interviews. I think sometimes we are our own worse critics. All you can do is your best. If you did not leave skid marks and gave somewhat logical/rational responses you did fine. (Edited)

What was tough? Your interview? Are you done? I'm sure it went well. Yes, interview. Just walked out of there with a feeling not unlike the LBMT. I don't have the same "I'm just glad to be done" sensation. I think I need to go back up there this afternoon and tell them a few more things. DO NOT SECOND-GUESS YOURSELF!!! As Moop said above, we are our own worst critics. Studies have shown that your first instinct is usually the correct one. Unless you were speaking in gibberish, or vomited on an interviewer, you did fine. I am still available for alcohol and ego-stroking, but I don't think it is necessary. After all, we on the Board all know that you are a silver-tongued devil(dog).

Logical? My answers would give Mr. Spock a kidney stone. I can't imagine that you had a bad interview, DD. But I do love your response here, it made me laugh!

I too thought the interview was just as tough as the OPM (SI) interview.

not to stir the pot but when is the guestimate on when the calls will be made? are people still interviewing? The assumption is calls and offers won't be made until after mid-July. I could be off,a little, but it usually takes six or more weeks. Time will tell.

I finished up today and am happy to be on the other side. Unfortunately, I'm not sinking my toes in the sand. Oh, well. Small victories.

Make sure to swing by your local Home Depot/Lowes/Menards on the way home, buy a bag of sand, grab your favorite situational cocktail, take it all out to the front or back porch, insert toes into the sand, and enjoy! And congrats!
