I celebrated with an Italian soda made from peach Toriani syrup and club soda. I'm not kidding.

We celebrated with an Italian sparkling wine. It was Friday night and it already feels like a long time ago. Yep...after so long a wait, if lucky, you get that fleeting few hours of euphoria. Then all this shiznet gets realz. Shutting down a job....moving...starting a new gig. And you haven't even gotten to the rude awakening that this is a chiken deboning, soul crushing, 13th Amendment violating, sweat shop of a job. Go read some of bartelby's posts. Scare the hell out of you. I jest of course. While many will find elements of dissappointment with the gig, on whole I still beleive it's the best job in government and all of us so blessed to have been appointed should remain humbly grateful for being so fortunate.

I suggest Gary find anything that will get him drunk if the Orland Park vote is real in the poll and it wasn't him hired. LOL!

When I don't get the call, I envision myself brown bagging a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 outside the SSA building!!!

When I don't get the call, I envision myself brown bagging a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 outside the SSA building!!! I love the attitude and the can personally picture the event in my mind, too. Thanks for the levity during this grueling process.

gary what do you suggest for the drink of the day on your day? I'd probably go with something with Scotch. How about a Rob Roy (a Scotch Manhattan): 2 oz. Scotch 3/4 oz. sweet vermouth 3 dashes Angostura bitters Garnished with a maraschino cherry

Except on a Tuesday night, then it would be a bad time. Unless you got the call, then anything goes! Recommend folks try other types of bitters to see what they like. There are all these new bitters out there!

Another Cert ship sails by again without me aboard, drats! To maintain some sort of dignity, I will not be brown bagging the Mad Dog, but mixing half Mad Dog with half mountain dew. To those of you less privileged ALJ's or wanna be's, that drink is called a "Dog Dew". Until next cert.......

I am ashamed/proud to admit that we used to mix orange MD 20/20 with coke. That was before we got classy and started drinking wine of the Boone's Farm persuasion.
