Perhaps I am missing something here. If you were in the first group of eligibles and interviewed earlier this year by ODAR, you will not be called in for a second interview when any subsequent hiring is done by ODAR. Those who participated in the first round completed their active participation in the hiring process. As has been discussed ad nauseum in other posts, at this point, a member of the first round has one of two fates: ODAR can continue to consider the candidate for an ALJ position on subsequent certificates for his GAL, or ODAR can advise OPM that the candidate was given consideration for 3 positions and ask that his name be omitted from the subsequently requested certificates. The only exception to this could be the veteran who goes through the testing process again and gets a new score from OPM. Small correction to an otherwise excellent post: if you're thinking about a re-test with OPM you have to be a ten point vet as has been well discussed on these pages. But, does the 10 pt vet who interviewed in this first cert round just concluded, retests, and gets a better score, thereby moving up on the same register, get another interview? I would assume that they don't.

I do not believe SSA will do a second interview of anyone absent a brand new Register.

Thanks:(. Best to just eat chocolate while waiting Thinking we should start eating chocolate crickets? While I will eat almost anything chocolate, I draw the line at chocolate covered bugs. :-)

They are an excellent source of protein, too! Perhaps why protein deficiency is so rare in frogs.

I'm just going to be watching for a while, because I already had my interview. But I would like to see some activity indicating they are still on track for making another round of offers by calendar year end.

Seems like info on the second cert is a more closely held secret than today's apple product launch!

Word yesterday is for 200 ALJs hired "by end of FY15". Does this mean many smaller certs or just a longer wait for cert #2?

Word yesterday is for 200 ALJs hired "by end of FY15". Does this mean many smaller certs or just a longer wait for cert #2? This is somewhat consistent with what was bandied about in the Spring - ~200 by the end of calendar 2014 and another 100 or so in 2015. That would make 300 total - we're 70 in, so another 200 would be in the ballpark. I do not believe the 200 would mean "including the 70 we already have", because that would get them back to full from 6 to 12 months ago - and not replace continuing retirements. Without any additional knowledge, it appears to me they want to get back to "full" and hire on an annual basis to replace losses. That's what a "normal" HR department would do - the time and complication of building the most recent register, while not completely unprecedented, has put them behind 6 to 9 months from their overall ALJ staffing plan (also complicated by the budget issues of a year ago) - this is 100% my opinion, not based on any direct knowledge, but rather from statements and actions over the past 2 years.
