Pending completion of my background check, I have been offered a position with OMHA. Sadly, there is no poll for me to vote in...... Congratulations!

I hope you will keep us up to date on OMHA's proposed expansion of their ALJ corp. I am sure it will be a subject of more than passing interest around here.

Probably a little early if voters would like their cities to be anonymous, but the poll is there. As always, if offerees are not board members, we would appreciate proxy votes. Again, congrats! And good luck to those waiting!

If OMHA gets the President's budget, they will hire 119 ALJs this year. I have heard they have hired seven already.

Anyone hear any scuttlebutt about other agencies hiring for FY 2016 - NLRB, DOL, EPA etc?

Actually the last I read in Politico, the Medicare operating budget was one item that was mentioned as something that no dispute was expected. While the new majority party likes to float entitlement reforms, coming up on 2016 they need to show they can govern so actual starvation of operations is something they are backing off of. There is no political upside to slowing SSA/Medicare operations and very significant downside. The portion of the electorate served by SSA and Medicare are the most likely to show up on election day.

Hopefully they'll be able to get Boehner's majority-of-the-majority in the House.
