So, can we safely assume that all offers for the March 23 start date have been made?
Is there a chance that any new offers for the certs announced in January 2015 would carry over to the May start date (not counting the three people who already have been scheduled for May)?
Hard to say if March 23 is done. It seems like it since we are within 4 weeks of the start date and there has not been a reported March 23 offer for some time, so I would guess March offers are done. But who really knows? I think it is likely that some of the certs announced in January will carry over into the May starting class. I think some of the November announced certs will also carry over. It will be interesting to see if they announce any additional certs for the May group as well. I don't think it is that hard to say the offers are done for the March class Gary. There are only 27 days until the start of the March class. I do not see SSA (despite the fact many of us would accept it) send out offers with less than four full weeks left before the start of the class. Since, three people switched over into the May class it is likely the March class is a smaller class. Does it mean the May class will need to be larger? Who knows for sure? I just know they are still about 150 ALJs or so short of the 250 ALJ goal for this FY. Let's just sit back and see what happens. Yes, I am sure some of the old city certs remain open and it is likely a few more may be added before the May 2015 hire date is completely full. Good luck to all.

I think there is a small chance that we aren't done for March yet. There have been reports previously of people being given 2 and 3 weeks notice. The only reason I think the chance exists is that there are several cities that have been hanging fire since November that we don't have any indication they have been filled yet. Maybe they were filled by transfer or the person who got the job isn't on the Board but its still twisting in the wind for now. If they decide to issue some more certs and get us moving towards May I won't get my feelings hurt since I am most likely done this time around.

No offense guys, but none of my cities were pulled in November or January so I am really hoping this round of hiring is over and they will add new (read: my) cites to interview for this spring/summer.
Considering they have gone way below my score, I am thinking maybe it is finally my turn to get an email asking me to the dance. I just hope I don't trip on the way to the dance floor!!!
And for those of you waiting for the 'popular' cities where folks transfer out of often, and you have already interviewed, don't despair. If someone else got selected this time, you will move up the list for those cities and fingers crossed you will get selected for one of your cities the next round. Eventually, you will be the top candidate in one city - after all, that's all you need! [This is a simplistic way of looking at it, but I'm being optimistic for all of you]

For a few days now I have heard rumors that there was a resignation from among those now training in FC. I had posted nothing because the rumors usually included a "don't say anything, but..." clause. Today I received a PM that, while asking for anonymity, requested that I pass along the info. Apparently someone in the current training class quit on day 2 and returned to their prior employer.
Before anyone asks, I have not been given leave to say from what office they resigned. I have heard rumors, but no confirmation, so I will not post it here.

Funky, that may be the most amazing thing I've heard in this whole long Bataan Death March--er, doesn't-time-fly-when-you're-having-fun Marathon--of a process.

Ouch. Day 2 of training? They had to see FC, so they didn't resign before the training started? Absent some family crisis, this is a hard one to figure out. Can you really be sure the job's not for you before you actually do it? I'll go out on a limb and say that if there's no crisis involved, the person in question has not even lurked on this Board. If they had, they would have made a more informed choice.

Day two of training, but they had spent three weeks at their "home" office, right? Maybe they thought it wasn't the right fit based on that experience, but decided to wait until training to give that a chance. Pointless to speculate, obviously, but I imagine it was a difficult decision for that person.

I agree pointless to speculate, but maybe the offer of a new (better or higher paying?) job did not happen until Day 2 of training. The bottom line for us is that there is now an additional spot open for someone who specifically wants the ALJ position with SSA.

Wow. I have to think it must have been a personal issue, because no one could go through the whole ALJ application process and then interview with SSA, and not have a very good idea of what the job will entail (even if they didn't find this Board!). Hope everything works out for him/her.

I heard some trustworthy scuttlebutt that a couple of the cities on my "4 City GAL" may be hiring in May. I don't know if that means the cert will come out in May or if they expect to be making offers in May.

Care to share what your 4 cities are?

Long transfer lists for Denver and CSpgs, dpageks, but you never know. Recently there have been some hires for offices with long transfer lists. We can't rule anything out. Good luck.

Thanks. The scuttlebutt was that Wichita and Topeka were going to open up in May.
