A question that none of us knows the answer too (unless you secretly work for OPM) is whether OPM will wait until all testing is complete before getting the tests graded or whether they will grade as they go. If they grade as they go then getting it done early is probably to your benefit.

In terms of getting on the register arent we ranked against each other. So that they would not make any determinations until the last tests taken on or about december 17th were graded. Therefore there would be no advantage to taking test early. Whatmam I missing? To avoid birthdays, holidays and expected guests in fall I opted for a date in december on my birthday and when there is usually a little work slow down. ?again what am I missing in my analysis?

Those who are successful will be placed on the present register alongside those of us who got scores in 2014. OPM will be grading all the components of your score and combining them the same way they did for us, so they don't need to score and put you all on the register at the same time. That said, I think the small group testing today (including anyone who took their reschedule date) will be scored and put on the register (if successful) first. They may get scores pretty quickly--it is reported only 14 took the WD/LBMT today. I think your very much larger group will be scored and put on the register together. If that's correct, you may have a long wait for your scores, like we did for ours.

If they wait until everybody who will go through testing this Fall including the people testing this week and in December then the successfull test takers will wind up on the register simultaneously probably about May. On the other hand if the score on a rolling schedule then some people could be on the register by November/December and others later.

Have there been any WAGs as to the number of people who have been moved on?

Hey Gary, Are you positive that the SI will be offered on Friday for Thursday test takers?

Hey Gary, Are you positive that the SI will be offered on Friday for Thursday test takers? I am not positive about anything, but: 1. That's how they did it in 2013, and 2. Someone posted a copy of the email they received from OPM about self-scheduling stating: "NOTE: You will only be scheduling the Written Demonstration/Logic Based Measurement Test of the ALJ examination through the Assessment link below. Once you have self-scheduled your Written Demonstration/Logic Based Measurement Test session, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) will automatically schedule you for a Structured Interview session on the following day." So I am about as sure about this as I can be about anything in this process.

Needed to reschedule this evening due to lots of obligations this fall. I noticed that a couple of Mondays in October are no longer available. I listed the days that were initially available on another post so Gaidin can make a poll for us. At another location on this forum, a member said there is strong intel that the SI will be at the Embassy Suites in Georgetown. I just assumed we are likely to all be scored together, but no telling. I assume folks who test on Thursday will do the interview on Friday, since the sign up information is so clear on that point. That explains why there is no testing on Fridays. Also there is a Wednesday Holiday (October 11) so there is no testing on Tuesday since there would be no SI that Wednesday.

On a different thread, I just asked the question about how they time the scoring.
It would just be nice to know if I've got a decent shot or if I have no chance whatsoever.
THIS is the reason why, when I heard I hadn't moved to the next level in 2013, I threw away everything related to the job application and my responses, and moved on with my life, and why I almost deleted the email a few weeks ago saying I had finally made the cut. I want to know when to move on to the rest of my life.
And it's the reason why I don't know who I put down for references (I can guess at a few, I suppose, but the contact info for one of them is obsolete) or what GALs I specified.
Did I see something in one of the threads about printing out an updated resume and list of references and bringing the printouts to the interview? Or when would we provide that info?

Serious, J. slow down there cow poke. You don't submit references until you get an agency interview. You will be asked for specific references at that time. The SI is not an agency interview. You're confusing your step in the process with other steps.

I find some comfort in the fact that so many of us are sharing the same experience, however remotely. Things seem especially better when I realize that despite the number of issues that I am facing, my internet has not failed, and I don't have to decide whether to wear a dress or a suit. I think I spent the entire weekend waiting for midnight Sunday, while noting the dates that I could not go to DC and trying to figure out when would be best. I ultimately concluded that flying on a Sunday for a Monday test was the best use of my time and allowed me to arrive rested and hopefully better able to perform. I did not want to be first, so I selected the next Monday, which was the 19th of October. I am interested in knowing how much company I will have on the 19th and whether anyone shared my decision-making process or if it is horribly flawed. I will also be there on 10/19. Let's hope it's a lucky day! Cheers!

Good to know! Just don't want to be unprepared for the first (perhaps, only) DC phase.

OK folks I have seen lots of questions for those of us who have NORs about the trip to DC, the test, and lots of other stuff some covered by NDAs some not.
I am happy to answer questions I can as are many others BUT you're getting my recollections of 2013 in 2015. I implore you to go look at those old threads. You will get our contemporaneous thoughts, beliefs, and understandings. Don't settle for what I remember you deserve what I knew at the time.
Also take a deep breath if I made it through to this point you can too.

If you can get into application manager from your usajobs account, you should be able to see what you put down for your GAL and may be able to view the resume you submitted.

Serious - You are not going to find out your NOR ahead of when everyone else in your group does. If you don't make the Register, you may find out at which part of the process your score did not meet minimums, but if you make it all the way through to the Register, the only thing you get from OPM at the end is a NOR. No one gets any kind of advantage over their test group in finding out ahead of anyone else and no one who gets a NOR gets any kind of detail as to how the NOR was calculated.
Now you should be aware that there are several groups of folks sharing on the Board right now. There's a group that tested in 2013 and were put on the Register (ie got their NORs in March of 2014 - about 6 months after the OPM testing & interviews were done). Many of these folks have appeared on OPM city-certs to SSA, have had SSA interviews (not the same as the SI) and are waiting for job offers from SSA - which we're literally in the middle of.
There's a group that OPM notified in May that they can now test n& interview, and they are in DC now and for the next week or so completing their tests & SI's at OPM.
Then there's the group that is currently self-scheduling their OPM tests and interviews for Oct-Dec. This group will get its results at the same time, and probably well after the May group get theirs.

Did I see something in one of the threads about printing out an updated resume and list of references and bringing the printouts to the interview? Or when would we provide that info? You don't bring anything to the SI. The references you listed on the initial application are not the same references you read everyone talking about that are provided after you get on a certificate. Don't worry about bringing anything at this stage. You should always be "getting on with the rest of your life" in this process. It is still just a job application, albeit a protracted, complicated one for a very good job. Some of us went through the process for the prior register as well. Life goes on. If another great opportunity comes along in the meantime, you take it. You can look up your GAL and other info you provided at the application stage if you go to your account at USAJobs. A good score will certainly give you a leg up, but there are so many variables that predicting how likely it is that you or anyone will be hired is just not possible. My advice to you, if you still have interest in the job, is to complete the testing and, if you make the register, do as the rest have done. Wait to see if you make certificates, go through that interview and reference process, and see where the chips fall.
