contrary to rumors from the other 49 states, Jersey is part of the US! You have to admit it's an understandable mistake.

Newark and Jersey City Both of these cities have appeared on certs multiple times this register. They are probably the best shot anybody desperate to say in the NYC area has of getting this job. lizdarcy has several posts with great info about the NJ and NYC offices and environs. Here is a good discussion of Jersey City. aljdiscussion.proboards.com/post/81392/threadThe opening of The Sopranos was a homage to northern NJ. Franki Valli and the Four Seasons were from NJ. I discovered today that Joe Pesci helped form the band. As christina pointed out Frank Sinatra is from NJ. You know who else is from New Jersey? Jon Bon Jovi! I have never been a huge Bon Jovi fan but he is very New Jersey.

i think this is actually filmed about a house in philly but too great of a video to not use. jon Bon jovi is very proud of his home area, whether that be jersey or the not too far away philadelphia.
and good time to mention both the Boss and John Bon Jovi have been very generous with charity when it comes to anywhere but especially the place they consider home.

The actual JC office is not in a very happening location but there are many good places to live in northern NJ. Gaidin is correct in saying that Newark and JC are your best opportunities for getting a spot in the NYC metro area. I suspect both offices may make the next cert. The South Jersey office is also a good place to be in terms of good places to live near the office.

and Liz. you may have said this before but both JC and newark are just a short train ride to manhatten. correct?
and to all, S. Jersey as i think Gaidan pointed out is actually very close to Philly. yes, Camden has bad parts but there are other towns around there that are very suburban and nice. i suspect cost of living is a bear though, even with the locality pay, for any of these offices.

There are some fantastic communities in the area. I point out Camden more as a cautionary tale than anything else. Also the first sentence of that Rolling Stone article is gold. Cost of living in or around Newark or JC was really high. Pennsauken and Cherry Hill not to bad.

Well cost of living is relative. I'd have to check but I'd probably find cherry hill crazy high too. Depends on where we are all living now and where we have lived.

Albuquerque, NM
I won't lie to you the Que is in my top 5 cities to get hired into. As such the impression I want all of you to have of it is: a wretched hive of scum and villainy according to this documentary TV series:
Albuquerque (Listeni/ˈælbəˌkɜrki/ al-bə-kur-kee) is the most populous city in the U.S. state of New Mexico. The high-altitude city serves as the county seat of Bernalillo County,[5] and it is situated in the central part of the state, straddling the Rio Grande. The city population is 557,169 as of the July 1, 2014, population estimate from the United States Census Bureau,[2] and ranks as the 32nd-largest city in the U.S. The Albuquerque Metropolitan Statistical Area (or MSA) has a population of 902,797 according to the United States Census Bureau's most recently available estimate for July 1, 2013.[6] Albuquerque is the 59th-largest United States metropolitan area. The Albuquerque MSA population includes the city of Rio Rancho, Bernalillo, Placitas, Corrales, Los Lunas, Belen, Bosque Farms, and forms part of the larger Albuquerque – Santa Fe – Las Vegas combined statistical area, with a total population of 1,163,964 as of the July 1, 2013 Census Bureau estimates.
There isn't a whole lot of music by bands from New Mexico. There are some classic country music gems about the Land of Enchantment though.
Johnny Cash had a song about New Mexico.
Waylon Jennings did a song about Taos.

That's it Gary, thanks! Fell in love with Sparx years ago when I lived in NM! Although this video is a bit cheesy, their music and harmonies are wonderful!

I will ultimately figure out how to do this! Right now, I am betting It requires I get off the iPad and use a real computer! But thanks, I wish I could have found a better video, but I think they have posted these videos after their heyday, so to speak.
