sealaw90 said he wanted us to bring back the drink of the day. Sea I will do my best. I also offer to buy all of the necessary ingredients to give every ALJ at FC with us when we go a Judge on the first night. After which I will blown my per diem and somebody else needs to pick up the tab.

Ha! I love it! Unfortunately I am sitting in an airport and a) it would cost like $20 for that drink, and b) I have to work when I land this afternoon. Perhaps after my hearing ( only an agency rep, not the judge alas) I will imbibe...

Remember to be prepared! I was all set to enjoy a glass of wine after a long week, and I remembered I didn't have a bottle opener. The following week, I remembered to buy a bottle opener, but I forgot the wine. Then I got snowed in in the big East Coast blizzard. The only thing I could see was the light from the bar down the street.
I finally got my act together and I now have wine AND a bottle opener. But now I'm not in the mood for it...

Alright you Navy guys, I'm at the Brick Alley Pub having an Old Fashioned because they gave me a weird look when I asked for a Judge!! Not sure about the rest of you, but my Naval Justice School daze revolved around Brick Alley and O club on Fridays.

My no bottle opener (or in my case too fancy bottle opener from Napa that you need tech degree to use) solution - cheap red sangria screw off top from whole foods. Accidentally grabbed white sangria for blizzard. But made do.

Gary i think i did close to that when using the fancy bottle opener and accidentally plunge the cork into the bottle and so had to strain out wine sans cork. And my guests and i had to drink all the wine!

I did a study abroad program in Spain during college. One night in Sevilla, I asked the hotel clerk for a corkscrew, not knowing the word, so it came out like Spanish words meshed together like a German word. He said, "Bolígrafo!" I protested. I did not need a pen- I needed a corkscrew! So, he showed me how to wedge the cork down the neck into the bottle with the flat end of a plastic ink pen.

Of course, there is the old bang the bottom of the bottle against the wall trick! I've never tried it, but I've seen it done on various videos on the Internet, so I know it's true!

The best mojito I ever had was made with rum that had been casked in old whiskey barrels for 6 months. It gave it something very special.

Christina, I can't like your post cause a Bacardi and coke MUST have a lime. Like you said, to each his or her own

If anyone is interested in trying something totally different but fitting for the season. Add a shot of fireball whiskey to hot cider. You can thank me later.

Christina, I can't like your post cause a Bacardi and coke MUST have a lime. Like you said, to each his or her own In Mexico I was taught to make a Cuba libre with tequila and Coke, r/t rum. It was odd at first, but now it is my preferred recipe for a Cuba libre. Of course, I am a tequila hound, I can enjoy it in almost any way. I once did a tequila tasting, you know, like wine tasting, and was amazed at the range of qualities and nuances. But one important lesson, learned long ago, respect the tequila or it will make you pay dearly!
