Tequila reposado is quite good. All in moderation, of course.

Christina, I can't like your post cause a Bacardi and coke MUST have a lime. Like you said, to each his or her own In Mexico I was taught to make a Cuba libre with tequila and Coke, r/t rum. It was odd at first, but now it is my preferred recipe for a Cuba libre. Of course, I am a tequila hound, I can enjoy it in almost any way. I once did a tequila tasting, you know, like wine tasting, and was amazed at the range of qualities and nuances. But one important lesson, learned long ago, respect the tequila or it will make you pay dearly! Herradura Anejo. No need for anything else. Never had an (unmanageable) hangover. Of course, that was long ago, and my body definitely cannot take what it could in my 20's. Ahh the memories (well pictures anyway)

Gaidan, those of us in waiting status need stronger drinks this weekend!!!! Although seriously, my husband brought some fancy beer home and mentioned white wine would go great with dinner! i asked him if he was planning to take advantage of me after the wine I think I need something stronger, too. I just scheduled an appointment with a potential new client, while simultaneously emailing a judge and opposing counsel to schedule a settlement conference. I emailed everyone, including the judge, that our settlement conference would be held on the correct date, but the time of my meeting with the potential client. Luckily, the judge knows me very well, and won't hold it against me. Maybe it's because it's Friday. Or, maybe, it's reading all these posts today, and trying to ignore the little mouse on its wheel in my brain wondering if I'm going to finally get my NOR on Tuesday, that is making me scatterbrained today.

In honor of Valentines day, I offer you the drink of the day in our house, a Sazerac a la Playboy. Not romantic, unless you drink a few, but definitely smooth. 1/4 tsp. Pernod 1 tsp. Sugar 2 dashes Peychaud's bitters 1 dash Angostura bitters Water 1 1/2 oz. Rye Lemon peel
Pour Pernoud into chilled old fashioned glass and swirl to coat entire glass. Add sugar and bitters and just enough cold water to cover. Muddle or swirl till sugar disolves. Add rye and ice cube or two.twist lemon peel over drink, drop in glass and enjoy.

sorry seelaw, we need to get this up and running again for those who don't have quick internet video access. Suggestions are welcome!!!! Strawberry-Banana Smoothie Blend 1 banana, 1 cup strawberries, 1/2 cup each vanilla yogurt and milk, 2 teaspoons honey, a pinch of cinnamon and 1 cup ice. OJ is also delish to add to this and you don't even need the honey in full disclosure to all, i do not drink much alcohol so i will be posting smoothie drinks of the day. Before you all groan, just add your favorite alcoholic beverage to any of my posts and you will be happy. for example, i think rum or brandy would be awesome with the above!!!

Love Martinis the froufrouier the better Make mine the traditional way: Gin or vodka, dry vermouth, pimiento stuffed olives, in a cocktail shaker. I don't particularly care if the gin gets bruised.
