I got the call this afternoon while in mandatory training. I tried to return the call and left a voice mail message for Mr. Daniels. I will catch him early tomorrow.

I haven't been called for an interview either. I'm still in the .... OK, I'm getting a little concerned mode. The other posts, however, I believe are correct. Lots of interviews to schedule and only a fews hands on deck.

I admit that my anxiety meter was creeping up before I got the call

No call yet for me either. Patience is not one of my virutes it seems. Apparently, if you live a good distance away -such as the west coast- they will pay for an overnight stay.

aaa and all - I rec'd a phone message on 12/11/07 from Jennifer, and spoke with her yesterday on 12/12/07. She was very kind and helpful. I'm flying in from the West Coast. Because of the distance, SSA will pay for an overnight. On a different note, and I'm only speculating, but perhaps the interviews are being scheduled in smaller batches than all 450 at once, in conjunction with SSA's possible schedule for 2 or 3 different, consecutive training sessions in early 2008?

The time to panic is when the calls stop completely, and you have no messages. I am confident we will all be called eventually, and admit being totally distracted as I read this board and hear of everyone's good fortune. A fellow judge and good friend in the same office I am in was called yesterday for an interview. They will get to each and everyone of us. Hang in there!

Apparently, if you live a good distance away -such as the west coast- they will pay for an overnight stay. As I recall, this has more to do with flight schedules than actual distance. If you live where there aren't enough flights connecting to DC to get you there and back in one day, you get the overnight.

I still have not received a phone call. When is panic permitted??? Panicking is permitted beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2007, until then, breathe in; breathe out; wax on; wax off. ;D

I just completed setting up the details for my interview with Mr. Daniels in OCALJ. He, too, is a very pleasant individual. During the course of the conversation, he informed me that he is one of "a few" people who are setting up interviews. They are working off a single spreadsheet.
I took a slot on the first day of interviews; I will report back with as much information as I am permitted to disclose.

Thanks Morgullord. Every bit of information helps.
Deadwood - Thanks to you for the reminder of breathe in, breathe out (wasn't that a country song?) as well as wax on, wax off. Does that mean I have to learn how to stand and kick like Ralph Macchio did?

I was contacted a few minutes ago by OCALJ to set up my interview. I am set for January 9th. The gentleman was very nice.

My call came on my office telephone. Normally, I am not here on Fridays due to 4/10 flex, but we had some overtime today.

I was called on Monday and scheduled my interview. But the caller said she didn't have the authorization number and would call back in a few days. No call back for authorization number. Has anybody else had this happen?

I am also awaiting the authorization number. I received my call on Wednesday. I did receive a wierd confirming email from SATO suggesting that my airline reservations might not be final unless they received the authorization number.

Yes, SATO needs the travel authorization number and my caller didn't have the travel authorization number either. I think that SATO keeps the reservation up to a certain date. I'm sure that they will get the number to us in time. I was more concerned about getting a room reservation.

Isn't there a song lyric that goes something like: "Since my phone still ain't ringing, I assume it still ain't you" ? Well...at least we are all still getting there...just some a little less in the air... Perhaps they'll provide lots of OT for those nice folks doing the calling; maybe even hire a whole bank of them like at the telethons? They might take care of the whole thing and schedule everyone over the weekend!!!! (it is close to xmas so wishing is in order...) ....or perhaps not... anyway, as has been pointed out, they are doing something, apparently as fast as they can...still its hard not to feel like a war orphan....or the high school girl that doesn't get asked to dance at the hop.... perhaps adding something to the breathing.... oummmm.....oummm..... take care, all!
