Also there is no need to show up to OPM super early. I was there an hour early and they made everyone wait in a very small area outside of security and there was only a handful of uncomfortable seats available. An OPM person came and collected everyone a little after 8:00.

Congrats steelrain! I can only imagine the relief you must feel. So, down to questions! Interesting about the size of the classroom - I presume it's the only one? Also, for the SI, was there a guy with a cap and a sign with your name knit telling you where to go? . At least the WD/LBMT is a bit more specific about where to report, lol. Lard help us if we can't cut and paste, MPD - how tedious that will be! And I hope they provide scrap paper and pencils for both parts of the first day!

Crab it is my understanding the computers are very basic from past posts and do not have spell check or cut and paste. It is almost like using a typewriter with a separate keyboard from what I have been told and read on posts, the only difference is it has a monitor. I think you can change font size and such and make things bold, but not much else. Steelrain can correct me if I am wrong. I am glad Steelrain gave us a little insight into the process. Thanks and good luck Steelrain. How did you know where to go for the SI once you got to the hotel? Just curious as to whether there were signs or you asked at the front desk Steelrain.

An OPM person came and collected everyone a little after 8:00. That was one of my biggest questions, now I know to use that time grabbing a lunch for the break instead of cooling my jets in a cramped vestibule. The other question I have is whether all these stupid logic questions we are practicing are a smart use of our time. The littlest tidbits are immensely helpful to all of us, thank you and the best of luck steelrain.

I don't think I've mentioned this elsewhere: My request for new dates was granted. The new dates are 8/8 and 8/9.

But since I was part of the first group perhaps it was a smaller group in order to work out administrative kinks. When you get to the Embassy for the SI there is a flat screen tv on the wall that has a listing of all the events at the hotel. I found the ALJ SI on that and it was on the second floor. You are given pencils and cannot use any other writing implement

Not sure if the computer program used is part of the confidentiality agreement but I know that issue has been discussed in detail in the past.

Thanks again steelrain for all the useful information on Phase 3 issues without revealing anything of substance.

The tables last time were only big enough for one person each. Obviously a different setup this time. Do the laptops still have regular keyboards attached?

Gosh when I took the test all I got was a stone tablet and a chisel. I used them to rewrite the 11-15 commandments.

No because I invented the barrow. Some other dude invented the wheel and took all the credit.

Not sure how much we can talk about the SI. When I was signing in someone asked how many panels would be running and they told him that they couldn't discuss anything about the SI. Which seemed a little silly since as soon as you checked in and walked around the corner you could see how many panels there were. Thanks so much for what you have been able to say, but everyone understands (or should) about keeping tight lipped about any further details even if obvious. Better to be safe and not give the appearance of straying from the confidentiality agreement even if it seems silly! Good luck to you steelrain!

One interesting tidbit is the room was only set up to hold a max of 32 people. Also I was able to bring in a water bottle, but had to keep it on the floor. Were you in room 1350? If so could the room hold many more people?

I am more curious regarding the fact that there are two people per table, which could be a distraction depending upon who is sitting at your table taking the WD/LBMT. I prefer to have separate tables, but it is beyond our control. However, steelrain did say some tables only had one person at them, presumably because not everyone showed up for testing. I hope I can get one of those separate tables. I just feel better not having to worry about a noisy neighbor or the vibrations of someone who pounds hard upon the keyboard.

I mostly ask because I am trying to get our "math" right. I will attempt to get to a "onesie" table as well.

BTW, I wasn't asking a question yesterday with any expectation of an answer, it was thinking out loud!!! I am off to DC this Sunday, so you start getting nervous energy that makes you type all sorts of things, like questions that pop into your brain....

Bunch of antisocials, huh? lol. I'm sure we would all like to take the test alone.
I too will rush for a single, but I also heeded someone's advice and invested in a set of ear plugs.
