Two more tips: 1. I wore ear plugs which helped tremendously to cut down on all the keyboard chatter; and 2. This is more of a general tip that I use whenever I travel. I always write down the hotel name and address on an index card and this time since I was going to take a cab to OPM I wrote down that address on a separate index card. That enabled me to just hand the card to the cab driver and avoid any translation/pronunciation issues with the driver. In the past I have been taken to an incorrect location but since using index cards it has never happened. If there are any Amazing Race fans out there then you will now that the biggest factor in getting lost is a confused cab driver

Thanks so much for what you have been able to say, but everyone understands (or should) about keeping tight lipped about any further details even if obvious. Better to be safe and not give the appearance of straying from the confidentiality agreement even if it seems silly! Good luck to you steelrain! yes, thank you again. BTW, I wasn't asking a question yesterday with any expectation of an answer, it was thinking out loud!!! I am off to DC this Sunday, so you start getting nervous energy that makes you type all sorts of things, like questions that pop into your brain.... I bet! Good luck to you sealaw!

Can anyone tell me whether, how, and when we'll get our scores? Will there be a way to understand what they mean in terms of status on the list?

I'm slightly uneasy about not being able to leave the building between the WD and LBMT. Really? Would it make any difference if I have a federal government ID and presumably don't need to get a guest pass?

Would it make any difference if I have a federal government ID and presumably don't need to get a guest pass? Why are you uneasy about not be able to leave the building? I would think everyone is bound by the same rules, no matter what ID you happen to carry.

I was hoping to go to lunch at the modern art museum. So much for those plans.

Thanks! One point already, if you're a federal employee, use your work ID.

The posters so far have all seemed relatively upbeat. That is certainly a good sign. I don't know if I would go that far in describing their mood, but I would state most posters have been impressed with OPM's handling of the Phase 3 and the manners and skills of their fellow Phase 3 members in the process. Most feel that it requires almost all time given to finish both parts of the exam from day one. Be prepared to be busy during day one of the examination.

Any of the first in fighters know whether there's a prohibition on wearing a hat during the testing on day 1?

Any of the first in fighters know whether there's a prohibition on wearing a hat during the testing on day 1? Only if it is your lucky hat and would give you an unfair advantage. Besides looking remarkably similar to a wonderful actress, you're really quite bright. I hope we get to work together some day. (But let's let everyone else believe I need the hat because we've been told that the room is quite cold ... )

Any of the first in fighters know whether there's a prohibition on wearing a hat during the testing on day 1? Only if it is your lucky hat and would give you an unfair advantage. Mrs. Gaidin had lucky shoes in law school. One day in our second year our dog chewed the heels off of them. She continued to wear them through the rest of law school for exams. I would say that was silly except I had a lucky t-shirt that I wore in college, law school, and into my early years of practice. I had to discard it because after years and years of wear it developed a hole the size of a basketball in the stomach area. To be clear this was not a sudden rip or tear this was a hole that wore through over years. I wore that t-shirt under my suits for trials for several years until the hole consumed it. I miss that thing and wish I had it for two more days in DC.

Thanks Observer. I remember reading that in older threads, but it seems like the first reports for this year failed to mention anything about it. At my age the location of the bathroom is more important that where the cafeteria is! LOL!

Since this is my second time going through the SI, I feel a bit like I'm in Ground Hog Day or The Shawshank Redemption. I keep thinking that in the SI, they will ask me, "Buffalogal do you feel you've been rehabilitated?" And I'll say "rehabilitated, well now let me see, given that I'm here, how can you think I am rehabilitated?!" Either I've answered too many logic questions or have seen too many movies.
Thank you to all the kind people I met today and the support of all you out there in blogland. Best of luck everyone!
