Just finished my WD/LBMT, only 23 people were in my group. Most of us sat at tables by ourselves. Earplugs definitely helped. Room wasn't that cold, but you will need a sweater. Cafeteria was open during our break. You're allowed to bring in something to drink.

Is it a Trooper Hat or Ushanka with flaps to cover your ears? Oh, MPD, even I think a Trooper Hat would be a bit over the top for Day 1!

And, to answer someone else's question, you ARE allowed to use the restroom unescorted during both the WD & LBMT. However, you have to sign in and out of the test room, leave your ID with the proctor, and only one person can leave the room at a time.
And, to bring this post back on topic, yes, yes, leave your smokes under your chair with the rest of your personal belongings when you step out of the room.

"I think religion is another subject that should stay out of these threads, regardless of the motivation for posting about it. JMHO. " I agree, Observer, but if you have become attuned to the political sensibilities of this board, you'll surely have noted that some commentary of political and religious nature is tolerated - if it comes from the proper quarter. If there is any pushback or challenge to controversial statements, well, then you'll have the "deep-seated biases" problem and you'll be told to be quiet.

For those of you who are new to the SSA disability world, here is an example of what you can expect from unrepresented claimants. Or my clients.

First off, thank you again to everybody who has made it through the first week and lived to tell the tale to the rest of us. As I head out this weekend to DC for the 'second week' group, I have another question - what has been the temperature of the SI rooms at the Embassy Suites??? I really don't want to pack a summer-weight suit that I end up shivering in during the SI. I promise to post on Monday and Tuesday to let everyone know if it is the same (are the twin procters still there?) or different (I got to go smoke at lunch!)

Sealaw - I didn't even notice the temperature during the SI (unlike during the WD), so to me at least it was perfect, but then again I am a northerner that prefers it to be colder rather than warmer.
Good luck next week!

Steelrain is on point. Plus you should be in formal attire so you will not be cold. My interviewers were not wearing sweaters either.
Good luck sealaw!

Thank you exjag and steelrain. I appreciate the good vibes. I am sure I will be sweating right through my suit - whether it is made of silk or wool!!

I find that tropical-weight wool is a good choice given the AC in DC buildings in the summer.

OMG, that was great Trekker ( I had to wait to get to my home computer - silly government computer won't let me watch YouTube videos!!) reminds me of a few criminal defendants I represented, but thankfully not all. Well, some folks need our help more than others, and like I say, some need help making a tunafish sandwich. Congrats to any of us who have had the pleasure and frustration in teaching someone how to make a sandwich!!
