Not that anyone cares, absolutely not, but can anyone on the inside give us a hint why absolutely nothing seems to be happening?

Well, if the press release information is correct, there has been no press release, so no offers....

For those of you who are consuming way too much caffiene today, go to www.ssa.gov to await the Commissioner's press release. Don't forget to keep refreshing. This is the Commissioner's game. It's his ball, his field, his rules. The press release will come and with it will come the onset of the offer process.

Why did George Foreman name all of his sons "George"?
The mystery is cosmic in scope.
Perhaps we can formulate a conspiracy out of this...

I knew a guy in junior high school whose last name was "Gee." He planned to name his kids, "Al," "Fun" and "Orr."

I will be the first to say it, and you heard it right here: no offers will go out today, February 25, 2008.

Waiting is the worst part . . . at some level you just want to know the answer so that you can embrace the opportunity or simply move on with your life.

I managed to go away and do some work for a while. It left me vaguely empty inside.
Do you (y'all) suppose there will be no activity until after his (Astrue's) Wednesday Thursday testimony/conference thing?
[edit: I need to get my dates straight]

that's exactly what I was thinking....what if the press release will be well, released, after he speaks with Congress on Wednesday? If what Judge Cristaudo says is correct on all the facts, then no calls until Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning. But who's to say that the calls couldn't start tomorrow....so that Astrue can say offers have been made/hiring is underway? AAAHHH!!!!

In the spirit of the other top ten song thread - I offer hope with the song "Tomorrow" from the musical "Annie" -
The sun'll come out Tomorrow Bet your bottom dollar That tomorrow There'll be sun!
Just thinkin' about Tomorrow Clears away the cobwebs, And the sorrow 'Til there's none!
When I'm stuck a day That's gray, And lonely, I just stick out my chin And Grin, And Say, Oh!
The sun'll come out Tomorrow So ya gotta hang on 'Til tomorrow Come what may Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya Tomorrow! You're always A day A way!

Ok, boys and girls – here’s what is rumored today from some PMs who have “insider” sources: Rumor has it that, recently, a HOCALJ stepped down to a regular ALJ position, which closed an opening for his/her office. The office remains unnamed. Supposedly this started a domino effect. (Meaning, the fill of an ALJ slot meant the “rack and stack” done in order to make offers had to be re-shuffled. Hmmmmm, re-shuffled, ok – so an anaology of a house of cards would fit better here.) Allegedly, now, the best estimate is that offers will go out late this week.
["Let's call the whole thing off!"] What this means, of course, is that everyone can just relax now - go listen to Michael J. Astrue speak on Thursday - and look for calls around that time. Emphasis on the word relax.

The Offer Song:
They'll be calling in a phone call when they call; They'll be calling in a phone call when they call; They’ll be calling in a phone call, They’ll be calling in a phone call, They’ll be calling in a phone call when they call.
I hope voice mail’s a working when they call; I hope voice mail’s a working when they call; I hope voice mail’s a working, I hope voice mail’s a working, I hope voice mail’s a working when they call.
They can send me off to Fargo when they call; They can send me off to Fargo when they call; They can send me off to Fargo, They can send me off to Fargo, They can send me off to Fargo when they call.
I will go to train in Woodlawn when they call; I will go to train in Woodlawn when they call; I will go to train in Woodlawn, I will go to train in Woodlawn, I will go to train in Woodlawn when they call.
I will order me a black robe when they call; I will order me a black robe when they call; I will order me a black robe; A double-knit from Acme, I will order me a black robe when they call.

jh-
doesn't take much to upset the apple cart, eh?
The hard part is that the rest of my life doesn't sit still for this process; decisions and commitments have to be made and cannot be deferred forever. . .

judicature -- I do agree....Was it you who referred to the desire to embrace your unknown future WHATEVER that may be? There is a growing weightedness on the ability to manage other decisions in the absence of knowledge.
YIKES.

The hard part is that the rest of my life doesn't sit still for this process. . . Actually, isn't that the best part ? There is a growing weightedness on the ability to manage other decisions in the absence of knowledge. Isn't the best thing to do is to move forward as if nothing will happen ?
