Received call to schedule interview week of May 9. Scheduler indicated that tomorrow is Today.tm. 1. It begins/continues again; and 2. Hey! But the news is so good, I will allow the use of my mark in this instance.

I'm sure it happens, but I haven't heard of anyone getting interviewed by a ROCALJ. I, and everyone I have talked to, were interviewed by HOCALJs. I could see them trying to make it so no HOCALJ from an office you are in the running for is on your panel (though that would be hard for those with high scores and wide GALs) but I cant see how they could do that with ROCALJs. I was interviewed by a ROCALJ and a HOCALJ.

Yes indeedy. Hopefully each of us has plenty of cities to rank-order, which will take some time and obsessing. Please don't obsess over rank ordering. I think many (probably most) of us have a few faves - either where we are or the dream location. Beyond that from what I can tell the rank ordering is pretty much a waste of time. A few people have gotten their first choices, most don't. It certainly doesn't hurt to try BUT if you obsess between which city is 56 and which is 57, you may want to rethink your priorities. Walk your dog, hug your kid, lift a glass with your spouse - not necessarily in that order. It's difficult enough for them to figure out how to work the system to reach the people they want without trying to accommodate where people want to be. Why do they ask? Who knows. Tiebreaker maybe - if they can slot you one of two places, it may make a difference, but do you think they seriously care if they offer you City 80 or 81? Do you really care? I plan on ranking my top 10 maybe my top 15 if there are a whole lot of top shelf choices. After that they will all sort of be fungible even in a list of 81. Only half-jokingly, I'm wondering if ODAR might think someone who takes the time to rank all 81 cities (or anywhere close to such a high number) is too OCD to handle an ALJ's high-volume, decide-quickly-and-move-on workload. Maybe that is the REAL purpose of the ranking spreadsheet - to get bad fits for ODAR a way to unwittingly out themselves? So just to be safe, anyone with the urge to rank every last city should probably follow mamaru's advice and Gaidin's plan!

oh oh... meet someone with that much ocd.
although honestly not on cases. too pragmatic for that.
But regarding where i might live, um. Depends on the 81 cities.. and how many i cert on....

Ok, you can't make this up! I am at a waterpark with my children for a few days; it's spring break. I fall asleep using my phone as a radio, with headphones in place. I awake to find my phone's battery dead. I plug it in right away because my son stayed in another room with a friend's family also staying here and wanted to see if any crises arose. I find one voice message, listed as urgent (but they all seem to do that). Because my phone was dead when it came in, there is no missed call listed (read: no area code). I call in and hear a very pleasant voice saying "Hi, this is [very nice person] with SSA, and you are on the OPM list............" GOT THE CALL! Unbelievable! I had let go of any notion ( well, most notion) of receiving a call as after lots of thought, reduced my GAL to three locations (see above re kids, family). Have an NOR in the low 70s. I am stunned. I know it's not the ultimate answer but, well, it IS a necessary step that I thought the limited GAL would obstruct. Oh, and quite ecstatic as well! Kids want me to go down to the pool soon (it's check out day), but somehow I am feeling a bit distracted!

Your fretting over what they'll think of you for ranking them all is another matter.

Finally! Got an email about scheduling. Low 70s NOR and limited GAL (I amended it significantly at end of March but I guess that hasn't taken yet)
I think Loki said it best:

I read Erikbrukink email to be just about scheduling. Apparently OPM has failed to give SSA contact phone numbers for people and so they have been making initial contact to schedule interviews by email.

A lot of funny scenes in that movie. My kids love when Tony Stark zaps Bruce Banner with that laser stick-thing and Captain America storms in yelling "Hey! Are you nuts?!" They keep saying it and its driving my wife crazy. I ll cease posting Avengers clips after this oo.
Have to get psyched for Captain America: Civil War!
