Thanks all. I tried to look - I'm sure it's there somewhere in the old threads, but I couldn't confirm...but is the WAG that certs will come out Monday, based on pre-cert calls this week then? I wouldn't think they would hold the certs until the 18th or later if they're already calling.
I think I need a (or several) tums.

I've been a big proponent of 4/18 cert emails. The interview calls have changed my mind. I now think they'll come Monday 4/11 or sooner.

Got the call. Interview scheduled for the week of May 2.
Nothing was said about cert emails, and I didn't think to ask.

Do you mind telling us the area code? Using jedi mind tricks on my phone seems to work better when I know part of the number I'm willing the call from. :-) And congrats on getting to that all important interview stage! The Force is strong with this one

Or maybe they didn't get enough names for two weeks of interviews? That would be my thought, though it would be rather surprising. I would think that would mean far fewer than 100 new, uninterviewed (made up word) names on the certs given the frequency of SSA interviews. Maybe OPM relied heavily on expanded GALs from the register's OGs? you know, that is plausible and would explain the concerns about getting 60 hired in June. Although grateful to be a late register add on, i was surprised and sad for my peers as to how many got cut from our group. it is possible maybe as little as 30 percent made the register :/ Although 30 percent should still be more than 100, maybe it was more like 20 to 25 percent.... :/ :/

Congrats to those getting the calls for interviews! I received a call for an interview before receiving notice of being on a cert back in January 2015. The caller was a contractor and had no information regarding the cities in play or when cert emails would go out --- her sole job was to schedule the interview. I think it took several days before the cert email actually came out --- and it seemed like weeks just waiting to see which city appeared. Rest knowing that you are on a cert....and sometime soon you will find out potential locations.

She said information about booking travel as well as the cert email identifying cities and asking for paperwork would come "within a week."

Has anyone yet received any of the cert e-mails? Just wondering...

Whether or not they included people with three prior considerations on the certs would not affect who is reachable. Then I don't get it... If people that have already been given three considerations are on there to recieve more considerations then those people are taking a position on the cert that could go to someone else if they were no longer on there. This makes perfect sense in my head.

If people that have already been given three considerations are on there to recieve more considerations then those people are taking a position on the cert that could go to someone else if they were no longer on there. This makes perfect sense in my head. When OPM determines who is reachable and so who must be included on a cert, it needs to take into account the consideration status of the eligibles being listed. Let's take the simplest example: A one city cert for one position. On that cert there would need to be at least three candidates who have not yet had three considerations. If the top of the list consists of 16 people who have received three considerations, OPM needs to return a cert with a list of eligibles consisting of those 16 plus 3 more who have less than three considerations. In such a case, SSA would have the option to consider any of the top 16 or not in its discretion. Thus SSA could hire any of the 19 it chose. It gets more complicated with more positions, more cities, and with candidates having one or two prior considerations, but in principle it is the same problem for OPM to solve.

Hello: I applied back in 2013. Interview #1 in DC, interview #2 Falls Church. My original GAL had only 1 city (not a good idea). With GAL now wide open after expansion, would that mean a possible third interview, assuming I make a cert?

Your FC interview would have been during the life of the current register.

As usual, Gary's too fast! I bet that means you could turn out , oh, 500 to 700 cases a year!
Edit: Oops, per month would be a bit much!
