I have to say this...if I recall correctly...in 2013, our application status changed 2 weeks prior to the date the emails actually came out. Remember?... We obsessed over the difference trying to guess which group made it through for 2 whole weeks before we got the answer...if that is true, then I would be willing to guess that we should see some movement (i.e. change in status in the application manager) any day now...BUT I obsessed so much last time (I checked it every single day), I am actually afraid to look this time (yes I admit it). Anybody brave enough to go look??? Heehee...I was so glad to see Pixie say "obsess away" Its time for some action on here...it's been a bit quiet lately...I need something to help pass the time. Here we go!

I'll bite. No movement. Still says awaiting results- you will be notified. Actually isn't awaiting results a good sign? Or is that the neutral sign?

I bit too and now I'm utterly confused. The Awaiting Results notation is dated way back to April, which leads me to believe that the notation may refer to the passing of the first phase (at least for me). I also have "no results yet" for the external assessment, whatever that is?! Just another meritless AM post...

I also have "no results yet" for the external assessment, whatever that is?! Just another meritless AM post... I'm pretty sure the geezers are messing with us. Yes, you are geezers when you toy with us.
To summarize my take on the results of the '13 class's obsessing over AM: the AM status message changes to "awaiting results" once your application passes the initial screening. The external assessment is all phases of the OPM testing. It is the "results" of this OPM testing (external assessment) that you are awaiting. If you get results prior to receiving a NOR, then that means that you have been Gandalf'd. Only people who are not moving on are given results before the end. So any change before you receive a NOR is bad and there will be no good news change until the end of the OPM external assessment.
For those getting jumpy about the current status of the OPM process, the real stress on this board is on those that are left on the register, who have waited 3 years to have a real chance at being hired as an ALJ, are facing the risk that us newbies will flood the register again in the next 8 months, and are sitting here watching a rumored hiring this fall appear to be in serious jeopardy.
It may not work for y'all, but when I start getting impatient, I think about that and the fact that all of the intel continues to indicate that OPM remains on track for DC testing starting in late Sept or Oct. Even a CR is unlikely to slow down OPM because they aren't hiring, just carrying on their normal business. Plus, the fact that SSA let a new contract for reference checking indicates that SSA is doing its best to hire and hire quickly when we hit the register. Given the relatively small number of persons on the register that haven't been interviewed and reference checked, I have to think this is being done in anticipation of the hiring once the '16 class hits.
We may be sitting still right now, but it is like sitting at a red light not a dead end. If you look past the red light, you'll see that they are trying to pave a 6 lane interstate for us. Now, if I can just keep getting lucky and fooling them into passing me along.

bayou, agree with most of your statements; one small exception (okay, two if you count the geezer comment - "Only people who are not moving on are given results before the end. So any change before you receive a NOR is bad and there will be no good news change until the end of the OPM external assessment." I was a member of the 2013 group who got Gandalf'd. But I didn't receive my email or change in status until one year after I'd completed the online components. By then, those who'd passed had already gone on to the DC portion of the program and the rest is history. Complete agreement with your comments after that - we'll know when we know, not a moment sooner.

So you took the online component, your AM status didn't change, you didn't receive any communication from OPM when some were called to DC for testing, and then at some random time a year later you received an email from OPM that you weren't moving on? I thought that at the end of each phase you received an email from OPM saying you pass or don't pass.

I took the online testing around May 2013 (IIRC), then heard nothing, not a peep, for an entire year. In May 2014 (thereabouts), I received the sad little email, aka FOAD. I figured that was it.
In August 2015, I received a better, faster, stronger email saying they'd lowered their standards & now I was good enough to dance my way to DC. (Aim low!)
I danced in October, but did not get the mirrorball trophy in March 2016. Instead, I reapplied, am Awaiting Results on my online component for another chance to head to DC.

This was exactly my timeline as well, and that of another attorney I know who tested in 2013. SaveSave

Timeline question? From the time we took the round two online testing in 2013, how long was it until the dreaded "SEE DETAILS TAB" started showing up on our AM? My thoughts are about 5 to 6 weeks from round two testing ending and until the dreaded, "SEE DETAILS TAB".

hopingforalj , if you look back a few pages on this thread, you may see that it varies quite a bit. I just did a quick search for "see details tab" and found lots of different responses, but mostly in this thread.

If I follow what MSP and Seaside are saying, their AM status didn't change for a year after taking the online component.

True, however very soon the "see details tab" will show up in AM manager for those not invited to DC, the letter comes later, reality though is see details tab will let you know, no DC invite, that is coming soon I think, Wag is Aug 15, 2016.

That's correct, again, bayou. Mine went from AR to SDT and hung out there from the time I went to DC (probably before, I don't really recall) until NORs came out in March 2016. Come to think of it, I can't remember if it did change in March (chalking it up to haze of sadness at not passing WD); but then the process re-opened a few weeks later, now here we sit.
