It's labor day; Merle Travis is one of the guitar giants; and this is for those going to coal country, especially Middlesboro or Lexington (It's a long way to Harlan. It's a long way to Hazard. Just to get a little brew).

I know some are hoping for a call to come to a coastal town, this is for you....
i saw comments from some that this song is really about fibromyalgia or chronic pain, or something like that...can anyone elaborate?

A metaphor of sorts for getting the call and traveling to a new duty station with the intent to stay--and otherwise, just a beautiful song.

With Gary's Intel that the hiring committee is having its preliminary meeting today AND that there is an off chance that a few offers may go out tomorrow, I have been unable to get the chorus of this song out of my head.

Love Roam. Found an interview with the band the other day When asked about their influences, the first name Kate Pierson mentioned was Nino Rota--one of my favorite composers.

risking raspberries, i know, but here you are!~
i love Erik Satie, and the tone of this seemed about right for the state of the process, until someone comes up with a hilarious encapsulation in counterpoint.
this is 'Gnossiennes 1, 2 and 3.' i picked this because it is shorter. good one for stars at night, or just in a quiet dark room...
the graphics that accompany are certainly about depression, if they are too heavy for you, just turn the screen off!!

ALJs sometimes have to deal with the moods depicted in these graphics. Nice music.

If I haven't missed it, I can't believe this hasn't already been submitted. San Jose is on the cert, and someone will surely find the way.

In the same vein as "Leaving on a Jet Plane", the singer is leaving a love "for a little while"--maybe to Falls Church for training. This was a Jackie deShannon single. I included this version because it was the best recording I could find.
