Wow, I had not thought of Jackie DeShannon in years. When I was but a wee slip of a pixie, she had a hit with What The World Needs Now Is Love. I believe that was also a Burt Bacharach tune. Thanks for stirring those memories. Pixie Yes, another great Bacharach song and DeShannon's vocal. Takes me so back to the 60s.

Here you go, St. Louis and Springfield MO. You too, Albuquerque--and, hey, San Bernadino, Pasadena, and all points in between and beyond.

When I was really young, maybe 5 or 6, seems as though I remember something on TV about a guy riding Route 66 in a Corvette, or maybe a motorcycle? Or am I just imagining that? Pixie

here's a two-fer in multiple ways: anyone Louisiana-bound will get to enjoy zydeco. Queen Ida reported to be in San Fran now, so this is for Frisco too, hope she has helped establish a zydeco scene there:
Louisiana may be a bit wet, bring your wellies:

if Fresno doesn't strike your fancy, there's always Bakersfield, only 109 miles up 99:
there's just a bit of eye candy in this....commuting might not be so bad with that car!
