jagghagg: Are you saying that to be considered for "Round 2" we will all have to re-interview and re-interview possibly a third time for "Round 3" in 2009? Do you think the "locations" offered will change for Round 2? Thanks! CTB New cert. If you've already interviewed, doubtful you will interview again. Anyone on the new cert who was not on the old cert, will need to interview.

I think I understand the bitterness and frustration those of you who were not picked up this time may feel. I would have been right there with you had I not gotten something. I cannot believe that some of our most active posters - people I just KNOW will be great ALJs, were missed. I hope that you all get picked up next time around, if you still want it. I look forward to working with all of you. Just remember, now you have friends inside! ;D JFTB P.S. I've been a government attorney over 25 years. I've thought about becoming an ALJ since 1990. I left the government for a few years to be a stay-at-home mom, and I gave up a GS-15. When I returned to government, all I could get was a GS-14. Every staff attorney in my agency who was a GS-14 since I started here is still a GS-14, so I didn't take my lack of promotion personally. But I knew I wanted a higher paying position, especially with a child to put through school. Becoming an ALJ was my preferred route. Some of us take longer than others to achieve our goals. But we can get there, with patience and perseverance. Please don't give up! Your time will come.

Nice! I was not even thinking copyright issues That was to be Bluto's expulsion speech from Animal House. He responds to another character's dejections at being expelled and that their time on campus is over by saying "Over? Nothing is over untill WE say it is." (not likely an exact quote). He then goes on to talk about the Germans bombing Pearl Harbor and such. I suppose it says more than I intend about my mental state if I am drawing inspriation from Animal House

Benjamin Disraeli, the 19th century British PM once said: "Never complain and never explain."
Best advice I ever got from a partner in a law firm.
I do not mean to begrudge those who have complained. Trust me, I feel your pain. Its just that that road is so long...

Benjamin Disraeli, the 19th century British PM once said: "Never complain and never explain." In my neck of the woods, Detroit, those words are often attributed to Henry Ford II (Hank the Deuce) when he uttered them to reporters after being arrested for drunk driving. Either way - very wise ;D
