Are your fingers doing the walking (or running)?

Huh. I also thought it was a mistake. Apparently champing means to chew nosily. Good stuff. Here is a non sequitur random fact: A group of pugs is called a grumble. Champing (late middle English; chomping from the Scots, 17th c. ) would appear the be the root, chomping came later according to the dictionaries I've seen.

A nightmare? A million hits on YouTube? I adore cats, but would say an ignore of cats sounds like their usual behavior [unless, of course, I have the can opener!] Perhaps we should push to have clowder changed to a Gary of cats, in honor of our colleague! You just don't know how to talk to them. My next to last kitty's (looked like gary's avatar) favorite thing to do was to sit in my lap and purr while I rubbed her. She has been gone about 1 1/2 years now. Having seen more than a few horses champ at the bit, I knew both were acceptable. Pixie

Even on a stroll in the neighborhood, the local cats all run up to him for petting. I am starting to think he has eaten so much tuna in this life, they can smell it on him.

For the government to shut down? That’s what we all want to know....

hmmm...I had circled today on my calendar as a day we might hear something...but so far crickets. Crickets here, too ... I wonder if the shutdown also shut down DC invites.

I highly doubt that Issuing test results and the DC invite will be considered an essential part of OPMs duties during a shut down.

3 days overdue from last year. Anybody have any information as to the number of people who applied this year compared to last go 'round? I suppose we won't have intel about number passing through to the DC round until after they release the news.

Perhaps it would be appropriate to update the timeline to show the shutdown? I had thought about that noting the shutdown on the timeline, but with it just lasting the weekend (at this writing it looks like a resolution will happen today) I don't think it's going to have a discernible impact. It's possible that the concerns of a shutdown had delayed decisions or actions, but that's just speculation. If it doesn't get resolved today, I'll update it to show when the shutdown started, and when it ends.

Seems like the shutdown could only delay things. Even if they were ready to send out e-mails, there's no point if there isn't anyone working at OPM to schedule the invites.

Well the longer it takes for the D.C. invites and notification emails to go out the longer we all have to keep hope alive.
