even then it's a long wait so it happens when it happens if it happens.

Perhaps it would be appropriate to update the timeline to show the shutdown? I had thought about that noting the shutdown on the timeline, but with it just lasting the weekend (at this writing it looks like a resolution will happen today) I don't think it's going to have a discernible impact. It's possible that the concerns of a shutdown had delayed decisions or actions, but that's just speculation. If it doesn't get resolved today, I'll update it to show when the shutdown started, and when it ends. IMHO I think the timeline should be updated to reflect the shutdown and perhaps include an indication that we've been operating with short term CRs. I don't anticipate anything will happen unless and until we have a long term CR or budget (I know that in my office, we delayed contacting people for an interview out of concerns that we might be shutdown this week).

I looked at some old posts from 2016 (http://aljdiscussion.proboards.com/thread/3821/answers-application-manager?page=25 to be exact) and it sounds like at least some people got the FOAD emails saying no DC invite on or around 8/10, and then DC invites came out on 8/12. I haven’t seen any indication of emails received one way or another this time around, but if you look at the 8/10 date instead of 8/12, we’re running even more behind (albeit only a couple of days, but still). So if the time frames were the same for the 2017 JOA, those FOAD emails would have come out last Thursday - which probably didn’t happen or someone would have mentioned it on here. All this to say - if things go the same way this time, the FOAD emails will come first and then DC invites a couple of days later. Sooo.... today probably is not the day for DC invites.

Who knows... but I am starting to feel like we won’t hear anything until end of week or early next week.

I'm going with Friday afternoon. That's when the last round went out. I remember it well, and not fondly.

Nothing from OPM as far as notices of openings, so I think they'll take a day or more to recover, we'll get a belch of openings, and maybe then....... we'll be singing to OPM:
hopefully not and then:
**some have wanted rejection letters--this is the type of bogus "concern" we'd have to stomache.

I'm pretty sure that they tested during the last shutdown in 2013.

OPM's cranking out the USAjobs notification emails so.......
(I prefer the original but this version, being a bit edgier or more fraugh may be more appropriate)
Note: even Bowie kept the same guitar riff & chording, a significant tribute.

Foghorn, are you saying invites are being rcd? I assume that he is referring to the weekly job notification/search result emails (otherwise this thread would be blowing up).

Caused a panic here, I have to admit haha Sorry, should have said invites for applications -=-meant the notifications@usajobs.com that I get. I certainly haven't heard anything as of 10 minutes ago. Hence my thought about Friday referenced above.

This might belong in the Federal Shutdown thread, but I don't expect OPM to issue invitations to test unless/until they can reasonably believe they will be open for business those days. But I have been wrong before. As an aside, I have enough crazy going on right now that while I dearly want the invitation to try again, I am distracted enough not to fret. But for everyone's sake, I do hope we hear something relatively soon. And, hey, January is almost over: hoping for less lethal weather soon, too!

My guess is that the OPM graders have a job to do and, like all government employees, they have deadlines to meet. They may be a little understaffed and they lost a day with the shutdown, but they will get job done.
I say results come out tomorrow.

If this is day, it has to better than result day from DC testing, I found out I got cut, and my client had been working (no find that nugget until hearing due to admin error). Today im in Bulldog country going to hearing then off to REMs favorite diner in Athens, let the chips fall where they may, at least its better than last cut day, Eat a Peach.
