The Brigade of Midshipmen boarded the busses to West Point at 02:00 this morning. They should be suitably impressed with the Gothic granite buildings (and one marble building) on the campus of The United States Military Academy.

🇺🇲 15-0. Congratulations, Army. 🏈 It was a close game and could have gone either way until the 4th quarter. Probably didn't help Navy much that Army had its fog machines working (in back of and upwind of the stadium) along with the condensation nuclei machine that multiplied the effects of the fog coming off of the Hudson. The Ivy League canceled all fall sports; they did this back in the late Spring or early Summer. It was a responsible, albeit sad, thing to do. They have also canceled all winters sports, and things aren't looking great for the Spring, either. Again, responsible but sad. As a retired Naval Officer, I am sorry that the Corps of Cadets and the Brigade of Midshipmen (and for that matter, 60% of the "Power 5") did not have people looking out for their, and the force's, best interests.
Respectfully, Tom B

Fair enough, nylawyer. And as much as I used to crow about the "purity" of the Ivies, because at least we don't pay folks to entertain us, I do realize that there are some cases where the feather on the scale lands in favor of athletes. At least the Harvard fencers mentioned in the stories about the disgraced Harvard fencing coach (a) had the academic chops and (b) were pretty good fencers.
Respectfully, Tom B

Hopefully the Space Zoomies will be disbanded under the new administration. What a bunch of silliness. Pixie Use the Force, Pixie. Finally, though, the Air Force has someone to make fun of instead of the Coast Guard. Best thing for Air Force recruiting that doesn’t involve a shooting war. Thanks to the Guardians! The Space Zoomies! We can save on recruiting ads now and spend that money instead on necessary expenditures such as improving our base golf courses and acquiring larger TVs for the VOQ. A content Air Force is the most effective guarantor of our national peace and prosperity. Well-manicured greens just say to those who would do us harm, “Better not **** with us!” That’s why improvements to Air Force base infrastructure should be prioritized in any defense authorization bill—say, at the expense of the more antiquated and legacy Services, such as the Army. Happy Holidays to our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and G...G....(I just can’t force myself to say it, yet.) Hamster USAF Retired

Hamster USAF Retired Clever post, Rodent, but the Coast Guard is a bona fide branch of the armed services. They actually go in harm's way. The Air Force? Not so much except for the pilots and crew; they have my utmost respect. Happy Holidays to our Solders, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guard. Pixie
