Let us not forget the materialism --and manipulation, with the implied lack of ownership of sexual authority due to role imbalance of "Santa Baby" that being said here are a couple of good takes on Santa Baby:

Lady Gaga did a counter version on Baby It's Cold before the controversy--odd it never surfaced:

Where have you been? This is one of those things that is like an abrasive part of your laundry.
And by that I mean, how were you lucky enough to dodge this song?

Just lucky, I guess.
I seldom watch TV or go to shopping malls, and only rarely see movies.
I prefer the outdoors.

I have always preferred short commutes.
As a life member of the Sierra Club, I value public transportation, even for grocery shopping.
For the past nine years I have walked to work.
Being a lifelong renter does have a few advantages, albeit not as financially advantageous as building equity.
The simple life.

I have always preferred short commutes. As a life member of the Sierra Club, I value public transportation, even for grocery shopping. For the past nine years I have walked to work. Being a lifelong renter does have a few advantages, albeit not as financially advantageous as building equity. The simple life. Eh. My house needs three new windows, new HVAC, some serious work in one of the bathrooms, and a bunch of other minor repairs. The supposed financial benefits of home ownership ain’t all they’re cracked up to be, not to mention the time suck when you’re in the sandwich generation stage of life. I don’t regret buying my house because it works for my family, but if I’d been able to find this same house as a rental, I would’ve jumped at that. Renting allowed me to pick up and move for a great job opportunity during the middle of the recession when my homeowning friends were tens of thousands of dollars underwater. I despise the trope that renting is throwing money away. Different people have different priorities and values, and you have to do what works for you. I do miss my days of walking to the grocery store. I can still occasionally do it if I only have the youngest with me and use the stroller, but the thought of hauling both children and groceries for a mile or wrangling it all on the bus is enough to make me pay for grocery delivery. LOL.

So, has the world moved on from BICO, to Muting R Kelly? Thinking of everyone who is suffering from the shutdown and sending up prayers for you all!

Speaking of offensive music and since the holidays are over, this thread made me think of how much the Dude hates the Eagles...
Dude: ...could you change the channel?
Driver: If you don't like my music, get your own cab!
Driver: I'll kick your butt out!
Dude: Man, come on. I had a rough night and I hate the freaking Eagles, man!
I saw somewhere on the internet that Glenn Frey was reportedly so dismayed about this that he once even angrily confronted Jeff Bridges when they met at a party.

I am so disappointed. I only heard Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas" twice this season.

For this year, the only thing I’m really wondering, is what was the unnamed couple from the song “Winter Wonderland” doing that prompted Parson Brown to inquire if they were married? 😳

A couple of months ago I was going through Spotify and found a copy of Live Aid. Was listening to it and reminiscing, when they got to the part where they played Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas".
I couldn't remember that performance from watching the show oh so many years ago, so I started googling- mainly, I was wondering did they just perform it from the stage at Wembley or did they somehow try to perform it from both locations.
What I found was that apparently in some circles the song is considered deeply offensive, to the point that there are those who push radio stations not to play it.
Mind you, this is a song whose royalties are still being donated to charity.
