The Anonymous Poster who called "Puzzle Palace" was told we would be told by the end of this week. So is it today or tomorrow or are we having our chains pulled? And jagghagg, the Beatles song is "...help me get my feet back on the ground, won't you please please help me"! Not literally you of course, but the song I think is much more appropriate for the moment. So the watchword is FOCUS, work, FOCUS, work.

Last time, the press release was issued before the offers.

No press release on either the public portal or the internal portal.

I feel like I'm standing with a group of people at a bank of elevators, half of whom are wondering if someone has actually pressed the button.

I feel like I am in The Village and trying without success to escape.

As long as no one feels like they are in The Sixth Sense and seeing dead people. . . .

Is it ok to feel like Michael Jackson in the Thriller video? Um, okay. Whatever flies your kite.

I feel like I'm standing with a group of people at a bank of elevators, half of whom are wondering if someone has actually pressed the button. This is a good analogy, with the added proviso that we don't know whose going up or down...or not getting on.

Is anybody else hearing the theme song to "Jeopardy" in their head?

I think Godot will arrive before we receive a response.

To paraphrase the Natchez, MS, newspapers: General Johnston is bringing the offers.

Perhaps we ought to consider entering into service on a great sailing ship and searching for the Great White Whale.

Or the Great Blue Clam (from Spongebob Squarepants) with The sandwich nailed to the mast.

I'm giving up on today. I figure if they were going to do it today, they'd have done it by now.
Just an FYI, a co-worker told me she was talking to someone in OCALJ who said they were there late -- like 9 pm -- on Monday, working the list.

It reminds me of the feeling I would get as I was waiting for the jury to come back with a verdict after trying a criminal case.

which is ever so much better than the feeling of waiting for the jury to come back with a verdict after being tried in a criminal case.

I am reaching into the nether recesses of my addled brain. In the last round of hiring, didn't SSA send e-mail offers to a few candidates very late on the day before SSA placed telephone calls to the majority of candidates? Just want to keep the hope (and incredible tension) alive!

I thought all of the offers went out via e-mail last time. I do remember that a couple of offers went out earlier in the day before the rest of the offers went out.
