The Anonymous Poster who called "Puzzle Palace" was told we would be told by the end of this week. So is it today or tomorrow or are we having our chains pulled? . "By the end of the week" can be interpreted many a way. Since SSA's definition of "early June" appears to be "mid-June", I would assume their definition of "end of next week" means before midnight tomorrow or perhaps early next week!

I am sure those SSA officials trying to make the decision are under pressure to get it done too. All we have to do is wait. That sounds easy, doesn't it?

We are all starting to sound like the Lloyd Bridges character in "Airplane" -- "...looks like I picked the wrong week to stop..."

It's Friday morning and things may get a bit hectic later today. To all of us, a toast from Scotland's National Poet:
"Here's tae us ..... wha's like us ! .... damn few ... and their a' deed"

I hear you Crazy. I wonder how I (we) got to this point. Made me think of the wisdom of Keith Richards in 1972 when he penned on "Happy":
"Always took candy from strangers, Didn't wanna get me no trade. Never want to be like papa, Working for the boss ev'ry night and day."
Haven't had a day like yesterday and today working for myself...

I now predict that offers will go out by July 21.

So, if SSA follows the same pattern ... I don't think SSA need follow any pattern. I'm not sure there will even be a press release PRIOR to the offers. Just guessing.

I now predict that offers will go out by July 21. Oy. That means that we only get one month's notice. (If I'm lucky enough to be chosen, I'll do whatever it takes to get it all done within a month! ;D

There is an ODAR management meeting in Phoenix next week. OCALJ is supposed to be there in force. It may be that there will be no offers transmitted until this time next week or early the following week. It's their ball, their yard, their rules. Until you get an offer, do your job like there is no possibility of another.

I heard that Lisa DeSoto addressed the group up in Baltimore earlier this week and reiterated that the offers would go out by the end of this week. Anybody else hear that?

If you look at the time from when the interviews ended until the day offers went out on the last cert, it is actually taking longer this time. Since this is a much smaller cert, I would guess that something has come up that they are having to deal with prior to making the offers. It could be like the NFL draft. Maybe Atlanta is trading their pick on this cert to Portland for two picks on the next cert. Ha!

See message from Wild West Board:
Why am I the only one brave enough to call Falls Church? Called a few minutes ago. They said the offers were not done and that they'd "hopefully" be done next week. That doesn't leave much time to make arrangements for .... well, whatever.
Try to have a good weekend guys. I wish they had kept to their original plan of getting them done by today. I guess the process is more complicated this time around. Link to Post - Back to Top Logged
