Yes, that's true. Pixies just get stuck inbetween their teeth.

Thanks, I guess.
Still not going to take my chances with rattlesnakes (or pythons) in Florida.

The link I shared above has the original picture of the snake, and gives some details. It really is a python, and their mouths open quite wide. They need to if they want to swallow a deer. Or a human. I opened the link, but that huge snake creeped me out, and I closed it immediately. You mean human swallowing snakes live in Florida? It keeps getting worse. Pixie I'm not thrilled to be sharing a planet with human swallowing snakes. I feel a mistake has been made. An oversight. Say what you will about Florida, but at least no one is worrying about saving the snakes (they are an invasive species)- they are sponsoring contests to see who can kill the most. Which of course drags us back to another problem- you mean to tell me that there are enough of these monsters in Florida to have an annual contest to see who can kill the most?

Pixie Pretty hardline for the gentlemen snake. Rattlers are not all that scary when you are used to them. I'll take them over copperheads or water moccasins anyday.

Our next door neighbor used to live down South. She would keep a hoe on her patio so she could chop them into little pieces when she saw one. Not sure I would want to get that close to them.
The video posted by FH is an excellent example of why they should all be eliminated. That was one vicious snake. Looked as if it was trying to bite the guy in his eye. Not enough it wanted to bite him and kill him, but it wanted his eye as well. And that was in Lawton, OK. I have never been there, and now I know I never will. Pixie

That is one of the creepiest videos I have ever seen. That thing was waiting for someone to come to the door, then it would bite him. It makes my skin crawl. Pixie

No rattle to warn you. This one just wants to give you a big hug until it loves you to death.
Death by constriction seems like a worse way to die that being bitten by a venomous snake I think the rattles are at the end of the tail, don't know for sure as I have never seen one. We can't see the end of this guy's tail to know whether he has them. Whatever it is, I want no part of it, or the state it was captured in. Look how wide his mouth is open; he is really trying to bite that guy. Pixie. That snake looks like a cross between a snake and an alligator. Yikes! 🐍🐊

Board member dshawn is always taking up for the sharks, but here is a pic of great white trying to get to a man in his small boat. He was sitting there minding his own business, and this shark came up to sniff at him. Fortunately the man was able to stiff arm him and keep the shark away. And I read somewhere a day or so ago that a bull shark was caught in the Ohio River on the Indiana side. There was a picture of it, and it was huge. I was going to post here, but I have lost the link.

Is there nowhere where small, tasty little critters like us can be safe?

Although sticking your hand out toward the shark seems counter-intuitive. I saw a night-cam video of a woman sleeping on a sofa at night with her foot dangling off the side. This huge snake slithers up and starts repeatedly biting/attacking her foot. Came up through some sewer. I thought if you! Fortunately (sort of), this was in another country, and not Florida!

Pixie Sharks need love too. He was just curious. Brave sod that pushed him away with his/her bare hand. I love sharks, but respect them. I likely would not have done that.

He has a huge mouth. I just cringe when I think of all of the people who have disappeared in it.
Notice that is a small outboard motor boat the guy has. The shark was probably trying to bite the guy so he could pull him into the water and eat him. That shark didn't want love; he wanted a meal. Pixie
