Hi foghorn,
Do you have any idea how long it takes to be called for an interview, if chosen of course by the hiring manager, after referrals are issued for the Appellate IJ's postings?

For IJ, it would seem to happen about 25-30 days following the referral. For the BIA ....as the referrals happened around the 27-29th of January (estimated), then it would be around the end of the month for BIA--however, if the BIA is handled from a different pool of interviewees, it would take longer if they can't be assembled as speedily.
Best info is from anyone that hears, so on the BIA openings, let us know (directly or via p.m. ) if you have received a notice of an interview

Hey foghorn,
Did they start today or yesterday? I wish everyone luck to get an invitation.

Any updates from anyone? Interviews?

All I know is they seem to have started Monday.
It is for times like this that I started the Plan B thread. It is easier for a high government official to pass through the eye of a needle than it is to receive an invitation to a first interview, let alone a second.

Well, nothing last week (for me). But let's hope for some referrals for interviews this week! Good luck everyone!

That was quick. The most recent Appellate Immigration Judge (AIJ) announcement, see the third post in this thread, was only open 6-17 January 2020.

Really confused. I was just re-referred for the latest Appellate Immigration Judge posting that closed in April 2020. I received my first referral last week. Any idea about this?

Same here. Was referred last week for a bunch of cities and just received another referral notice for the same cities. Was curious about it as well...

Me, too. Better than the alternative!
Maybe some were inadvertently omitted from the original mass e-mail, but they didn't know who? Or other IT glitch. Certainly nothing to worry about. Can there be too much "good" news?
Someone please let us know about any initial interviews. Perhaps notification (if chosen for one) within 6-8 weeks?
If reluctant to identify oneself by posting, a private message to another forum member would get the word out.

I understand they are speeding up the process of BIA hiring a bit, but given that everyone is working from wherever, it may not go as quickly as it is planned to do.

Hi foghorn, Would you know why they resent the referrals? No knowledge other than conjecture. I would assume that some were left out--for instance one person recently received a notice of referral after others had received their (first) notice, so they assumed it was a rolling process. However, all those who are referred--whether once or twice-- may consider themselves on the road to consideration. From there they await notices of interview.

FYI - I received my notice of disposition letter last week for the Appellate Immigration Judge posting that closed in January 2020.
