Boy payroll will love that; the House is only voting today at the earliest. Wouldn't they typically close out today for a Friday holiday?

They have been through this drill before when a former President dies and they quickly designate a holiday for day of mourning. but this holiday will be for next year.

Reading the text of the bill it doesn't say anything about effective next year. Is the plan for Biden to sit on it past Saturday? www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/senate-bill/475/text

Maybe he will sign it on Saturday, since that is actually Juneteenth.

Had anyone heard anything from anyone official about whether this means tomorrow (or Monday) is now a holiday?

I’m glad Juneteenth is a federal holiday. I’m less glad that it’s getting rammed through in a few days to where my plan to strategically use leave this week is essentially screwed because I can no longer work tomorrow* due to a preclusion of working on federal holidays.
* assuming we’re part of the select group that gets the day off

Great holiday. Awful timing. Rushing to post office today to return a package in case it's closed tomorrow. We had this when Pres GHW Bush died and when December 24th given off at last minute.

I’m less concerned about leave than I am about those ALJs who may have been planning on using Friday to prepare for hearings Monday or Tuesday.

That's where I fell, with the additional uncertainty if instead the Monday hearings themselves might get cancelled.
Fortunately, it's a light hearing day
