I know exactly how long ago it was; I just didn't want to come out and say it, hoping everyone would gloss over it. Guess not. I did leave myself some wiggle room by saying, ". . . or so . . . . " Pixie I glossed over it. I have far too much respect for my elder’s not to.* * but I carry no such respect for punctuation/grammar queens, so there’s some apostrophe abuse. Um, I'm like, you didn't do the underline above your footnote. Pixie

Returning to the thread topic following a delightful musical reminiscence, after 11¼ years on the mainland my wife & I have returned to our eponymous island home, arriving here on income tax day.
Our surviving older son had gotten a job as a junior highway engineer for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Department of Public Works (CNMI DPW) in December. It is nice being back in the small-town, low-stress, tropical environment, seeing old friends randomly while out and about, or at meetings of VFW Post 3457.
After two months I grew bored with life as a retired DOJ GS-15 and went to work for the local Legal Services Corporation (LSC) grantee, re-learning areas of law I hadn't looked at since law school.
There are many ways to be helpful.
