Wow! Just wow!
I hope we go back to the CALJ reporting directly to COSS. It should be the CALJ who manages the Agency’s administrative judiciary

This isn't the only bombshell involving high level OHO management you're gonna see this summer. Take that to the bank.

Did anyone else find the tone of the article a little- tabloidish? Not what you'd really expect from the Post, for someone who in the grand scheme of Washington is a fairly small fish.
Really, the story is the fact that TPTB (aka the bigger fish) have seen fit to leave her on the job. Either there is some exonerting information out there that the Post didn't have, or this sure looks pretty negligent.
Also kind of curious who leaked the story, and for what purpose, but we'll probably never know that.

Idk. The DC is a medium size fish that supervisors 9000 employees and is responsible for 1500 ALJs (well more like 1200) who decide disability cases involving billions of dollars of tax payer money.
I was not impressed with the anonymous sources in the article and someone doesn’t become a DC without making enemies. Also, the IG is a holdover from the last POTUS that I’m surprised is still with the SSA especially considering all the problems in her office.
Regardless, if those allegations were made against an ALJ, they would an investigation, a disciplinary hearing with possible union representation although they can’t help much,, administrative leave and most likely removal proceedings before the MSPB.
To newbies and current ALJs, buy the professional liability insurance in case you’re ever at the business end of TPTB’s wrath as you will need it.

No knowledge of any of the allegations, but all I can say is that I've never seen the WAPO (and I respect it, for the most part)issue a balanced article when it involves SSA.

Any chance that this controversy or whatever you want to call it with DC Gruber will result in a hiring freeze or pause in OHO? I'm just looking for the next thing to worry about.

That was one of the first things that I thought of as well. OHO is hiring like crazy and rumors are there is more to come. Not a great time to have a leadership void.

Appears TG is out as DC. Any word on the new Acting Joe Lytle? Thanks for the heads-up about this news. I had figured that this controversy had resolved itself when we didn't see further news articles. Sorry to jump to this right away, but I can't help myself. How will this change affect hiring in OHO over the next, say, 5-6 weeks? Give it to me straight. I don't know much about OHO in particular, but it seems to me that when a component head is replaced, you can expect delays in high-level decision-making including things like hiring.

My thoughts exactly and am hoping this does not bring about a repeat of 2019.

Let’s hope this change is what Joey Tribbiani would call a “moo point.” Like a cow’s opinion…it’s moo. Really, I have no idea of the significance of this. Let’s hope there isn’t any with respect to the lucky few of you folks getting calls soon.

My best guess is no but I’m not in headquarters so it’s just a guess I agree - the DC is not the only decision maker in the hiring process. Moreover, it is likely that this has been going on for a while so the DC may not have had a large role in the ALJ hiring process. I hope the DC gets the help and support she needs.

Too good to be true. Source for this? I heard from two separate sources yesterday. She is being moved to a task force.
