Got some more info. There were 2 sets of job notices-the junish notice and the August notice. Ogc has a list from the first set of applicants but is still waiting to receive the best qualified list/lists from the August applicants. As such, any current interviews are for people who applied in June.ogc May receive the August list next week. 1300 applicants applied in August If OGC hires enough candidates from the June application notice, is there any possibility they would have a need to hire from the list of applicants that applied in August? My best guess is they will want to interview who they consider the candidates from both lists and hire from both lists |

Another OGC position was posted today. This is position is "Government Information Specialist," in OGC's Office of Privacy & Disclosure. GS-14. Open to the public. No education requirement, so it is not limited to lawyers. I don't know anything about the position, but here's the synopsis: "The incumbent serves as a senior policy expert for Freedom of Information Act, privacy, confidentiality and disclosure policy issues, including electronic privacy issues, such as electronic access rights. Ensures that strategic disclosure policy issues are integrated into SSA operations and business processes." **I see I somehow forgot to post the link. Do you have any insight on how the location works with these positions? They both say Location Negotiable After Selection. I read that as remote, but have no idea. |

Clarification: There are currently 4 OGC postings. 2 in Oplit and 2 in Glaw. In each unit one is a 11-13 and the other is 13-14. Strangely, the 11-13 had a 100 applicant cutoff and the 13-14s had 500 or 1000.
I believe all for sent out NORs today. It's the same POC at SSA.
Can anyone provide insight into why one is capped at 13 and the other is capped at 14? What is the career path?

While the announcement may not explicitly say remote job, my understanding is that OGC has been restructured and every position is remote

It says no promotion potential at the top but if you scroll down to under the list of geographic locations it says - Promotion Potential: GS-14 (This is not a career-ladder position.) The 14 is not automatic based on time in grade, there is certain work that needs to be performed, a recommendation made and then approved. However, it is very achievable. There are also non-supervisory GS-15s in OGC, that is a much higher hurdle and not everyone will get a 15. |
