Has anyone confirmed that those who interviewed last summer remain in the running? Or is it just our guess that they are still under consideration, based on past practice with the registry? Define “in the running” - from what I’ve heard, it’s a location dependent process. So, not getting hired last round doesn't mean you won’t be this one. But unless you have a wide-open GAL, you don’t know whether they are looking to hire in one of your locations. Those who interviewed this round at least know they were in a targeted locale.

To the TPTB: please, put me out of my misery. I’m ready to accept my fate, just let me know. Thank you. I admit that I feel slightly silly asking, as if this information was known, it would be shared, but on the off chance... Last round, there were some indicators of "imminence" as to the notification of results prior to the day. Has anyone's father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate heard anything? Y’all, it was never going to be a short vacation week. We all know this. The only reason we all got hyped up was some (bad) intel, which at the time, most of knew was bad but you couldn’t unsee what you saw, and to be fair, that sucks. Because we’ve been on edge an additional 3 weeks for no reason. Also, pending new spending caps, it wouldn’t astound me if it’s another ghost class ala 2019 (do I think that is likely, no, but 10 percent chance). Most likely, 30-50ish hires, calls coming in 2-5 weeks (not 4th of July week).

This could be the week---good luck to all in the running! What a marathon this process is..... To the TPTB: please, put me out of my misery. I’m ready to accept my fate, just let me know. Thank you. 100% this. I know it’s not me. Just confirm it so I can go one with my life and not worry about starting home renovations I can’t wrap up in 4 weeks….

As far as I know, this information is unconfirmed. Just like all the other information we know--or think we know--about the new process. At least we'll get an answer on this soon enough. Either TPTB will hire some more of the 2022 interviewees or they won't. (For the record, I'm betting they will hire many more of those folks, along with many of the 2023 interviewees, but we'll see.)

Were the August training dates ever confirmed?
Time frame from offer to start date is usually 4 weeks, although there are exceptions, no? As much as 6 weeks and as little as a week in the past?
As for the 2022 interviewees--the previous consensus from forum elders was that there is no reason the 2022 interviewees would not be considered now.
and......one must wonder if all of the AA hiring in certain offices has any predictive value for where the new hires may be heading. This is probably hard to say, but certain regions seemed to be hiring more AA's.
May tomorrow be the day......

So far nothing of the sort has come out. Maybe when this budget fiasco is over they will set training dates. When such dates are set then offers are soon to be in the offing.

There was information shared during a meeting a few weeks ago that I suspect is reliable: New ALJ EOD is 8/7/2023 and new ALJ training in person training starts 8/28. Hopefully, the calls start sooner rather than later. Good luck to all who are waiting with their phone ringers on full volume!

Training has included federal holiday weeks in the past. There would be no training on Labor Day, though, if that’s what you mean.

When I did writer training we finished the Friday of Memorial Day weekend (fun to travel home!) so I didn’t know if they would plan a training with a holiday in the middle. Thanks for the info 😀

My training took place in Oct/Nov. we didn’t have training on Veterans Day. Fortunately that year it was a Friday. Our training technically should have started on President’s Day, but our first day of class was on that Tuesday. It was also held in the hotel (I believe) due to a snow storm. I know we lost another full day due to snow, which was one of several calamities and oddities that occurred during our four weeks.

Question for those whose in-person training bracketed a three-day weekend (like Group 1’s training did last fall when they had in-person training Monday, 11/7 through Friday, 11/18, with Veterans Day falling on the Friday in between the two weeks):
Did most people stay in town for the three-day weekend and if so, were there any fun group plans? Or did people jet home or to parts exotic?

What accounts for the difference between the # on duty versus the # available? One thing I believe is judge on extended leave, say for an illness.

If you want that you need to create a culture with your classmates. 7 years on some of my classmates gather for Zoom retirement parties, send pictures of grandchildren, and occasionally get together in person. But we made an effort to build those relationships. Not everyone in our class sought that but a lot of us made that effort.
