IIRC rusty has that crockpot at his house. I literally bought the night I flew into DC. I went to the store for victuals and bought it on the appliance aisle. I recommend it highly. One of the best small dollar purchases of my entire life. rusty needs to step up and put an end to this long standing mystery. Unfortunately, Rusty hasn't logged in in almost two years. Pixie Oh rusty definitely has it. I can vouch for this. Would be cool for him to pop in on board though.

Any chatter on the likelihood of notifications for this week? This Friday has a lot of votes in the poll...
Any sliver of information? Someone heard someone's cousin say something at Costco yesterday?

Alright let's start the game of when it will be just to relieve anxiety. I am going with this Friday-why not? Pretty consistent with 2022 if it is this Friday........
Hope it is so that everyone can move on one way or another.

Seems like it’s about time to create the FY23 offer polls…. I’ll start them soon unless somebody beats me to it.

If you want by days, go ahead, but there are still a lot of days between now and the end of July.

Would be cool for him to pop in on board though. I think we covered this before. But, here goes: The last several days of training, I placed the crock pot prominently and announced its availability and secured a note to it stating the same. When we were leaving, someone said we had to clear out our stuff. The abandoned crock pot whined to me as we left "don't let them throw me away." So I have it. It still works. BTW, we didn't have MS pot roast but my class had bbq boston butt for college football tailgate party in the hotel lobby that was dandy.

Thanks, Rusty.
Yes, I think we covered this before, but some of us don't remember like we should. Pixie

Thanks 😊 In the quite likely scenario TPTB were waiting to make offers until the board was ready to track them… offer polls are up now in the polling section!

It’s obviously a different animal than last year, but I think we can at least identify parameters…… If you calculate offer date based on the date after last interview, there was a 6 week gap between the end of interviews and offers in 2022…. That would make calls happen on or around June 9. If we assume report date is as we think - Aug 7 - and we go off the 3-4 week timeline they generally give folks to close up shop, then Jul 7/14 would seem to be the likely dates for offers. Thus, sadly, I don’t think we can be any more precise than that—somewhere between Jun 9 and July 14. Re-upping this post not to toot my own horn but instead to be Donnie Downer/Pessimistic Patrick….. tomorrow is the earliest date I think offers could be made. All the current ALJs will likely attest that offers going out tomorrow for an August start date would be an astronomical amount of time compared to what they had. IE, I’d be shocked if tomorrow is the day

June 10th is the midpoint between the ending of interviews (4/14) and the alleged start date of 8/7. Maybe not relevant, but something I've noticed.

If this is to be a larger class, and the start date is in August, then it would make sense to make offers sooner rather than later to allow time to process all that paperwork (preliminary background checks etc) especially given the other hiring going on within the Agency.

Also, if they know who the people are already, there's no reason not to tell the selectees. I get that it would be more time than other folks have had in the past, but it would be hard to imagine not making the notifications as soon as all selections have been approved. One would not expect for the Agency to hold on calls just so that the candidates would have less time before the start date. I mean, I admittedly don't know anything about the process, but a time delay just for the sake of it doesn't make sense. This assumes that the folks have been selected and approved by the ACOSS for appointment, of course. If those discussions are still happening, then obviously, the calls will have to wait.

I fall into the camp of an early July call based on the August start date.
True there's no reason for a delay if ACOSS has made the selections. But on the flip side there's no reason to hurry up the selections or to get notifications out either. The budget passed. Shutdown averted. Crisis over. As long as it gets done before a budget driven deadline or according to some long forgotten arcane policy re why it's done this way the agency usually doesn't care. It's been a longtime reasonable expectation for new appointees to move across the country, close up law practices, for spouses to find new jobs, kids to get enrolled in new schools, etc. etc etc all in a 4 week timeline for years now.
And looking back at past announcements it's usually been around August when the board has lit up with congratulations or lamentations depending on which notification you got. Our timing is off because of the timing of this last round of interviews. A March email asking for paperwork and scheduling April interviews hasn't happened before. We used to get notices in June for additional testing in July and then maybe more testing in August (And first round FOADS for those not "higher scoring applicants") and final decisions made in September just before the October budget deadline. Just because the timing for interviews shifted doesn't mean the timing for hiring has.
As we always say when dealing with federal agencies. "Never put off until tomorrow what you can do the day before the audit just as well."

Notifying the selected candidates is a minuscule drop in the bucket. TPTB will make the notifications when all is ready. Pixie
