Amazing how many new members have come out of the woodwork. Congrats guys. As we go through the rest of the process together stay on the boards, share thoughts and theories, join in the exchange of flawed ideas. Makes the time pass and makes us care when you jump on to gloat or vent.

The more interesting thing to me besides all the new members who were formally lurkers, is those who had been on previous registers who didn't make the cut this time out. Evidently, the change in testing made the outcome different for them this time.

For those who haven't heard either way, you may want to consider e-mailing the help desk. When everyone was receiving their e-mails for part 2 and I hadn't received anything with the start of the online testing fast approaching, I e-mailed and requested a status. The next day I received my invite to participate. And I'm certainly glad I did, seeing later how many people never received their notices. This board is invaluable for information and support. Baglady- which help desk should I send it to?

I know recent ALJ's (last five years) who never set foot in a courtroom let alone acutally litigate. In my opinion, it's a bunch of malarchy!

I MADE IT! Got out of court and checked this board and nearly vomited! Immediately checked my email and there it was! OMG I don't know how I am going to make it through court the rest of the day! Yay! And congrats to my comrades! And my sympathies to those who didn't make it. I was in the AR group, too.

Check your spam! Mine went there even though prior e-mails did not go there.

The SJT significantly changed the selection process. Timed situations with multiple plausible answers could derail many otherwise qualified folks. It really tested all the competencies of an ALJ and I surmise that some of the questions might have been given more weight than others. The psychologists involvement in the development also would appear to indicate that they have a specific profile that they were looking for.

I heard there were current ALJs who had imput into the development of the SJT. One I have direct knowledge of and have worked with needed a psychologist.

DO CHECK YOUR SPAM FILTERS. This email comes from a different email address, evidently, than the prior ones. I found mine in my junk mail.

Baglady- which help desk should I send it to? 212, I sent mine to aljapplication@opm.gov, which I believe was the e-mail on the original job posting.

I'm in the minority, but I still don't believe that this testing is as dependent on litigation experience. If it was, I wouldn't be getting through to phase three with eight years of experience. I think the SJT and writing sample were much more heavily weighted than they're generally being given credit for here. JMHO.

The SJT was a defining factor more than anything else in Phase 2 of the process. I think a lot of people do not perform well under pressure on having to pick correct choices.

Agreed. It also explains why a lot of people who were on the previous register may not have made it this time.

As you may recall, I mentioned a friend of a friend that had no real lit experience but claimed level 5 that was reported to be in AR stat. Just heard he got cut. Dont know if he represents the one AR stat person cut or if he was not actually in AR.

Dont know if he represents the one AR stat person cut or if he was not actually in AR. Well, there is some solace in that. I wouldn't wish being cut on anyone, but by solace I mean that if those stats were as bad as they sounded, and he went forward, it would just be salt in the rejection wound!!
