Did anybody predict before Thanksgiving? Is 82 a good number? 82 in what? In bowling, 82 would be a bad number. In golf, it would be an decent number depending upon the course. In age, it is getting up there, but you still could have some good days in front of you. So, in terms of your 82, which area do you speak devildog?

Maybe it is the proof rating of his brew. You know those brewers, always trying to one up each other.

This thread has been looked at over 115 times since I put up that malicious post 41 minutes ago. Dang. It's the start of the holiday slowdown (a little early this year) and we are also bored...with waiting. Thanks for the laugh, I was getting the mid-afternoon droopy eyelids, now back to work.

colleague just informed me of December rescheduled test dates I can't see how it took more than six weeks to reschedule testing for someone. All earlier testing ended on October 18th. Why would there be newly rescheduled testing in December? Are you sure it isn't a 10 point vet who can test at any time?

Why would there be newly rescheduled testing in December? Are you sure it isn't a 10 point vet who can test at any time? That would be my bet too, even if they are "rescheduled 10 point vets". I can't imagine any other scenario that would merit a reset into December.

I can't imagine it is anything other than a 10 point vet. To assume that they are still rescheduling people from October into December is a stretch. Also it makes me ill to think about the delay

There could be some folks who had medical conditions that did not allow them to travel. A pregnant lady who had difficulties both with self and baby is reasonable. They just make up test with vets
As to delay? What delay? I do not believe you will see any NORs until January the soonest

correct futuressaalj. the individual is not a VET Must be extreme extenuating circumstances involved. And, if it's just one person, it even more likely means nothing in terms of when everyone's NORs will go out.

Have you read the OPM/ALJ applicant case law? Azdell was one piece of litigation and it gummed up the works for ten years. I think OPM wants to get it right.
The disposition/timeline of the appeals (my guess is they have heard the clamor) will be very interesting. I just hope we will hear more from them than in the past as reporting tends to be skimpy.

I'm not sure who you are responding to. I, too, think the disposition/timeline of appeals will be interesting indeed. But, I don't think testing one person in December will change the day the NORs will be issued, or affect the appeals process in any other way.

It clearly looks like the NORs will indeed first come out in January 2014. It makes the most sense with the holidays here and an additional test taking place. There would be no reason for OPM to rush to get out the scores until mid-January 2014 at the earliest. I was hoping for December, but January is more than likely it. Besides, with the lack of Congressional action on the budget and the likelihood of the second year of Sequestration occurring in 2014, the cuts to federal agency budgets will be substantial. It might lead to no hiring at all in FY 2014 by SSA. The second year of Sequestration cuts will lead automatically to more furlough days for almost all federal employees and much tighter budgets. I don't like where this seems to be going at all.

It clearly looks like the NORs will indeed first come out in January 2014. I tend to agree. I am close to assuming now, that they may be synchronizing with ODAR's schedule, to allow for a quick certificate and hire - the Chief Judge's comments during new ALJ training notwithstanding. Perhaps they anticipate a significant number and lengthy time for the appeals process - perhaps there is simply no reason to rush until the budget situation is resolved, even if only partially. In any event, my early optimism and wishful thinking that this would follow a similar timeline as the past few certificates is waning - it is still possible something could happen next week, but with the rumors of rescheduled testing (and specifically not for 10-pointers) all signs point to January 2014 at the earliest. January/February does seem convenient for ODAR - they get a cert, schedule interviews, the next month they make offers, the next month they have new judges report, and the next month or so, they have training - they don't like to have people over the bad weather months in DC, because of all the travel problems - backing up from a June/July training date for a large class - yeah, that kind of looks like a February certificate.

This year Alabama's passing yards actually exceed our running yards. But everyone always thinks they are a running team only. I don't care how people view them, so long as we keep winning. And for the record, I've been a Bama fan since before I was even born, even through the years of probation and losing seasons. Sorry Lurker, it was a good run these past couple of years.

I have been saying this for months but everyone said I was nuts and that the NORs would be out by now.

You'll have to say it for two more months, ssaogc. I'm holding on to January ! That would be a nice cup of cocoa.
Oh, do we have a budget or CR yet? Didn't think so. I'm covering my ears, ssaogc. Or should I say my eyes?

I've been saying January all along, but I am not expecting a cert in February. This time around is not like the previous one, with all the budget issues and what the chief judge is on record saying as far as hiring is concerned.

The delay from judge Bice's first opinion does make jan more iffy. Hard not to feel those negative waves, Sarge.
