Congratulations nvalj! I will be with OMHA in Kansas City also. I look forward to meeting you and working with you. Haven't forgotten your promise of shipping me some kc ribs, wayne. And now that I am in the blue grass state, I will return the favor by sending you some of Kentucky's finest. I haven't forgotten my promise Funky. Just send me a pm with your new address when you get it and I'll send you the ribs. Some of Kentucky's finest in return sounds great to me.

Yes, and I will send you some ____________ from Michigan. [Please help me fill in the blank] The car sounds good to me. If that's too much, then the cherries or fudge sound good also.

Michigan has some wineries too. And Dutch candies in Holland--I think boter babbelaars were the ones I especially enjoyed. Either of those would be worth sending someone. So I took the day off from work traveling through the wineries of Southern Michigan looking for a wine called "bother babbelaars." Silly me, I think Gary was describing the candy. Should have gone to Holland, but I don't have enough leave time.

Not enough leave time to get to Holland, Michigan from the wineries?

I saw 2 were starting in Kansas City on 8/25. But did anyone report a hiring and start date for Cleveland yet?

I have not heard of a Cleveland hire yet. I do anticipate they will make their second interview offers this week, sooner rather than later.

Have we not had any further updates from the OMHA cert?

I was wondering about this. Also I would be delighted to hear how many ALJs actually got hired.

Anyone heard if they hired for Miami? That was the only office I was certed for. Both SSA and OMHA do not appear to send out notices advising folks that they have not been selected, they just let you die on the vine.

I believe I read that in the recent past SSA would send something after the hiring was concluded, about two weeks later or so, but folks already knew from reading the board. I don't recall anything about OMHA's practices.

I received a letter dated 8-7. Sorry, not you. But they do plan to recruit more, budget permitting.

Sounds like you will still be considered and I have not read anything on the board about OMHA using the three strike rule since they only hire intermittently.

I am still waiting for my letter. I interviewed for Miami on 5 June. With your user name "future ssaalj," OMHA knew it would lose that bidding war. And, maybe OMHA hasn't done anything with Miami? Better to vacay in Miami than live there anyway.

When I was offered Kansas City I was told they were not hiring for Miami this go-round. I was hoping for Miami also. I'm sure I will love Kansas City though.

From a friend who has reason to know - OMHA hired seven (7) new SALJ (Supervisory Administrative Law Judges) - 3 for Cleveland, 6 for Kansas City (One SSA transfer and One transfer from Miami OMHA in this total) , and one SSA transfer to Arlington.

TLS Thanks you for the information. If they pull another Miami cert again, I hope to be on it again but I had an interview already....
