Are things really on hold until the Senate acts on the Cromnibus? Good question. I think it's just an educated guess by smarter people than me on this Board. However, I would think they would need to get the January starters hired regardless, and that with the short time to do so they would want to start the offers/acceptances ASAP. But that too is just a guess. Those who are saying don't know, and those who know aren't saying. Well it may just be that this is week 1 of the 2 weeks the hiring committee planned to meet. Or they may want a presidential signature on that bill before sending out the offers. Hard to say. There has not been any confirmation either way. But my guess is that it is a combination. After all without appropriations nothing happens in government.

Anyone planning to make an offer/city poll like we had last time? If I remember correctly, offers showed up there before anyone reported receiving one. Just a thought.

I will get one together tonight. The longer I hold off the fewer accidental votes also the less likely that the creation of a new poll creates a mini-panic.

Hold off on any polls G. We don't know anything yet. We don't know what cities they are hiring for in January. We could be off by a whole week, although I really was hoping today would be the day for at least ONE phone call. *sigh*

I know we have solid evidence that a number of western locales will not be hired but I don't want to miss anybody. I will likely leave all the cities from this cert on the poll and just plan on multiple empty cities. Don't give up Sea there is always tomorrow.

I agree G, put all possible cities on the poll, it is ok if they remain empty. Better than having to come back with a supplemental poll.

My Spanish is not muy bueno, but, it's either "my partner was chosen" - or "I was chosen, partner."

If SSA is awaiting passage and signing of the appropriations bill, that's now been booted into next week. Monday seems the earliest possible Senate action.

Based on tonight's budget approval, and the likely signature by the President, no spending impediment to offers being issued during the week of December 15.

All we can do is hope for offers going out this week. If not, it may not be until after the holidays.
